JS had warp speed catching up to Reed, but once he passed Reed, CR was able to turn it back on and show him a wheel.

all i know is that it made for a hell of a main event to watch

Jeff Emig nailed it when he said Reed forced Stewart "out of his comfort zone".

What I hate is people that bring up the fact that Stewart hasn't lost a SX when he hasn't crashed. It's true, but the only reason is because when it is a close race and he is pressured out of his comfort zone he goes all out, which you have to respect but you also have to realize that riding like that under pressure will obviously lead to crashes.

I think this is what Reed eluded to as James weakness (just a guess).
but wait....did Ralph say that or Reed say that?

This thread's title reminds me of the RC/JS days: James was faster, but Ricky was smarter. Chad used a little RC magic last night (and a little tuff block luv, as James' front brake lever reached out & kissed the one just before the finish line).

Give Reed credit for ramping it up after getting passed, but I'm still waiting for CR to routinely put in an effort like James does every week. Chad got a great start and should have reeled off 20 strong laps. Instead, he either chose to ride cautiously & let James catch him, or he simply could not match James' manic pace. Chad has several mediocre starts this year, and always fights his way to second, but never comes close to reeling in JS.

RC depended on starting ahead of JS to make his pressure strategy work. CR must consistently do the same if he's to win the title. RC was never defeated by CR or JS in any series (except the World SX Title); let's see if a little coaching from the GOAT can get Chad's head in the right place through Vegas.
