What a ride.

Up there with Herring at Foxhill in '92.

He won't forget that in a hurry.

Bet it put a dent in Herlings weekend too, they're childhood rivals right?
Yeah but Herlings has schooled Max since they got on the big bikes. Plus Herlings humiliated him & just about everyone else at Leirop in 2012.

that was an amazing ride by a rider who shouldve done much more in the 90s
Herring was my idol

Well done Max,I was there and his second win with Herlings chasing him down had every nationality of spectator jumping up and down

The guy has been at it a long time (or seemingly so) with less than stellar results. Great to see him rise above in front of the hometown crowd like he did. Definitely a "dream ride" for Anstie.

I totally agree, it was almost child-like wonderment. Refreshing to see a rider so honestly express his emotions like that.

I remember a start line interview at a GP when he was younger when he was saying to the girl ''we stayed at a sick house last night!... and then some tasty Monster girls came round....''. The girl couldn't wrap up the interview quick enough.

He's now the darling of world motocross, no matter where you're from you want to see the kid win if only to see the smile on his face.

Max is such a cheerful lad. You can't help but be ecstatic that he had the performance of a lifetime.
