Those enclosed cockpit designs/pic's must be pretty old. How long is it since fag packet cars were banned???
Plus, Damon Hill's helmet in the "Williams"? and Senna's in the "Maclaren"?

Saftey is good but let's not overdo it. How would it looked like if Tomac had a roll cage on his kawi? Dry

The Bianchi crash was a freak accident, and he hit a frikkin wheel loader. It will always hurt to hit a wheel loader in a F1 car. How about removing the wheel loader and use cranes that is located off the track instead? One thing is sure and that is that the Halo is ugly af

That halo won't do much for stopping debris - looks like as much or more chance for it to go right through it as be deflected by it. And I certainly don't think it would have helped Jules any at all - nothing would have, short of not having the loader there in the first place, or better race control. Which the virtual safety should help with.

Anybody remember Massas fractured skull from 2009?

So upgrades/modifications are locked in now for the rest of the season? Ferrari looks good in that case. Hamilton 4th? Huh? McClaren could score points. Interesting to say the least.

Uggh, what a race...What the hell was wrong with Vettels car? He was flying at the first part of the race.

And how about Alonso setting the fastest lap of the race at the very last lap. Boss move. Cool

No, the factories take a summer holiday (four weeks) and no work is allowed, its to save $$. Once the summer break is over, its back to the grind and improvements will be made up until the very last race in November.

They look cool but how would the resin in the carbon affect the champagne?......

I was surprised by the fact that all the drivers they asked about the Halo idea said that either that or a closed cock pit was required for a safety perspective. What about the fact that its open wheel? That presents its own hazards, should it also become closed wheel.
Open cockpit, open wheel is the fundamental nature of the sport, it seems crazy to me that they trying to solve a problem that isn't there, there will always be freak accidents when cars are going at such speeds, but at some point you have to accept the inherent risks as minimal as they are these days.

I think F1 is going to find itself at an important cross roads soon, it will have to make a choice between staying entertaining (keeping combustion engines and focusing on racing) or moving towards electric and staying technologically at the forefront...it won't be able to do both. Bernie may have played his best hand at the end and timed it just right.

Yeah, very un Hamiltonlike move. Obviously doesn't think Bottas is a threat. Never would have done that otherwise. On another note Verstappen needs to have his ass kicked.

The Red Bull garage must have been a $&@!-show after that. Ricciardo was choosing his words, or lack there of, carefully in the post-incident interview. I was hoping he'd go Raikkonen-style, though.

Such language from a admin...I know this might get me clicked, and I know that LH44 probably doesn't read this forum, but since when is it ok to call people names? If you've ever clicked someone for that kind of crap, that makes you a first rate douchebag...you don't like it if people refer to you as cripple do you?

My former wife, who passed away about 2 weeks ago, was in a wheelchair from early childhood onward. She was in one when I met her, in one when she bore my children, and in one when she passed away. So yes, I certainly did. I was illustrating the point of moderators refraining from comments which they penalize others for making. If they can't deal with that, then that's their problem, as well as Gibby's...and yes, he knows who I am...so no, IDGAF. /endrant

Edit: STFU noob, and anyone else who has a problem with my post

I was a dick precisely when? If you remember it, please enlighten me, as I don't recall ever interacting with you. Further., I have no axe to grind other than pots and kettles if you take me meaning. Lastly, if you read my post, I called no one anything...merely asked a question.

Back when you thought you were cool. Way to fuck up a good thread. Your little rant speaks volumes. P.S. sorry about your wife. F1 rocks.
