This year i am planning a big party in the camp ground and would love to meet some of you guy's! so i know it's a little early but i just wanna see who is thinking of coming etc.

Personally i will do the same as Donnington 2008 and bring out the decks and speakers under the awning and throw one hell of a shin dig. Back in 2008 we had like 400 people gathered around from all walks of life and countries partying. We had the pro photographers there taking pics of the party and the security became bouncers for it lol. I'll try find the pics
I was there in 2008.
Great party, was it you guys who had the whole grilled pig? Remember (just barely) talkin to a nice guy named Joe..?
Cant wait for some pics.

And we will come to Matterley 2017

I keen, sounds like a good time.

If I do meet you I will probably be incoherent, and I probably won't remember meeting you.

But I have made some great friendships just from partying in the camping aera at the last few mxon's.

How far is the track from Essex (Braintree)? The wife is from there and I owe her a trip to England this year.....
Wouldn't your wife know the answer to your question?
If this is me, im organising the trip , and not telling her about the MX till we get there.

Braintree is 2 hours ish, all Motorway, but busy , think LA traffic for half of it.

I'll hopefully be there. Is this on Friday or Saturday night? We usually head down to the GP Saturday morning get there for around 8 ish. Might try and book the Friday off work though and sneak a extra day in as I always enjoy a good pit walk.

I seriously can't wait for this, highlight of my year for sure.

Oh and accdiently booked a extra camping ticket so if anyone is short I can help you out. Planning on getting a refund but too much messing around. £20 for the ticket Smile

I'm planning to be there - just got to work out the schedule of events I'll be taking my Danish Nieces to. We'll be taking the families new RV for a 'break in' trip. The oldest one drives now, and will probably do a better job of it than me ( she Blitz's me on a Dirt Bike now, she has done so for years, actually) - well at least in Europe where they drive on the wrong side of the Road. Pommie Land, I'm behind the wheel.

Be afraid yah Pommie Bastards, be Very afraid ! Evil

Parking is ok-ish. Can take a while to get in though so make sure you have plenty of time. Getting out is a whole different ball game, that turns into a bit of a carpark moto. Starts off with the security people keeping the cars in neat lines, then it descends into carnage ,everyone breaks line and goes for a gap and the security give up and leave you to it..

Booked my flights! There is some helpful info in this thread. Is there anywhere else one can find super secret insider info on how to plan/prepare for this event?

MXdN is going to be October in England so prepare for rain too.

If you want to save a shitload of time, find a way to stay at the track for Saturday night.
No rush to leave on Saturday after the races, no rush to get there on Sunday morning.
Nothing beats a Saturday night MXdN campsite party, and when everybody is in traffic on Sunday morning to get into the parking area, you're already there and still sleeping or chilling.
So try to rent a car you can sleep in and spend your Saturday night hotel money on an air matress and sleeping bag. Might even get a cheap tent. Buy it in England, and leave it in England if you don't want the luggage.

Love it. It's like going to your hotel room at Red Bud. It's just not the same.

I hope people stop going with chainsaws, we already make a lot of noise outside the race, to annoy even more people from outside that has nothing to do with the race.
And annoying those who come to the race and want to hear the sound of motorcycles and thus know better how the riders and the audience hear the ovations and not a noise of shit and annoying.
I do not know how they let the circuit enter with them, I just hope that one day they will ban it, because there are still people who do not realize that it annoys more than anything else.
And you have to be half dumb to go charging all day with that shit on the track.

Bit of advice for people flying to the event. Do what we did last year and pack your camping gear onto the flight. Me and my dad went to maggiora last year and took everything apart from charcoal and food then picked it up in the way in a rental car. Our luggage was 16kg each so way under.

Oh and we will be down for the big shin dig!

Having chainsaws on the side of the track im fine with when the racings on being patriotic getting behind your rider. 3am in the camping area is no fun!
