Don't they use .50 cal to disable vehicles? If it can penetrate an engine block then I would imagine a book is no match for that caliber.

In that scenario, the slug is a .50 but the powder charge is double that of the desert eagle round and fired from a barrett or something similar. That's not to say you couldn't put a bullet through an engine block with the desert eagle but I wouldn't want to be standing close enough to try.
