I noticed that the Fuel Injection systems on the new KTM two strokes were more emmisions friendly by reading a post by Racer X. I I began to wonder if the Japanese brands will soon copycat KTM in the FI system for two strokes since emissions was one of the main problems that caused manufacturers like Kawi, Honda, and Suzuki from continuing to build two strokes. Any thoughts?

Are you sure emission output was the main problem that caused the cessation of two strokes?

Emissions never had anything to do with it... if it did why does KTM still produce them??? Huh

I knew that on the pro scene that 4 strokes were becoming more advanced and faster than 2 strokes, but I also thought that the EPA passed a regulation where the 2 strokes could only put out a certain amount of "pollution" (premix smoke) into the air and that the Japanese bikes (not including Yamaha) did not compare with those standards. I believe that the cancelled production of two strokes by these manufacturers made them realize at the time that the 4 stroke was more efficient and the two stroke was becoming outdated.

Emissions was the excuse to make really expensive bikes. The Japanese made the jump because of cash. Lots of money floating around in everyone's pockets back then.
