I mean, Stewart is pretty much doing the same thing as MC in his prime but it was much more fun to watch MC do it.
Are we that bored with SX these days??

Because it was new when he did it. We have seen MC do it, RC do it, and now JS is bringing up the rear.

when there is a dominant rider, racing becomes boring, I've had enough with MC, Everts and RC. I don't wish to know who's gonna win before the race you know? thats why the GP's are better since Everts retired and why sx would be more fun without 1 and 7.

When McGrath did it , nobody had ever won so easily and people like myself couldn't believe it so they tuned in to watch.

Now after 3 perfect seasons and 1 undefeated season outdoors by RC and JS and pretty much total domination by a few riders people are over the curiosity and want to see some racing.

actually, I've always found a run away to be a yawner. RC's 14 win season was the same as well. You come into the night hoping to see some racing. By midway of the main, you know it's over.

One good thing about San Diego was there was some battling in the pack.

Agree, good racing is always better to watch.

Gotta be the first time it happened thing.
Back then you would watch the race to see if MC could win again (and were amazed he did), now you watch the race to see if somebody will be able to beat Stewart (and are dissapointed when nobody did).

I think it is because they used to have Heats, Semi, and LCQ. That led to more racing, more riders in the spot light and less bullshit fluff by the booth. They also used to show the 125 show and the 250 show at the same time. This led for a nice afternoon of enjoying some fine moto. Now its just like watching a highlight reel. Like em or not I just think the commentators do a shitty job of garnering interest.

I didn't enjoy watching MC win all the time, any more than I did watching Hannah,RJ,Stanton,RC,or anyone else winning all day long. I enjoyed the seasons that had multiple winners and close racing. For the most part the 70's and early 80's come to mind.
Not complaining cause I just dig moto period.
