Has anyone rode both the Ktm and Husky? I have a shop that actually wants to help me out but it's on a husky. I've heard some say that husky feels a little slower because of the airbox. Are there really any other differences? Just looking for the most feedback I can get before I do the deal and end up wishing that I had went with the Ktm.

Anybody who is telling you that they can 100% LEGITIMATELY feel a difference between airbox holes and no airbox holes is either a liar, or they are Jason Anderson.

The airbox thing is so unnecessary and most people only do it because others the internet told them to. Buy the Husky. IMO it's a better looking bike and they always re-sell better when it is time (At least in my area).

The 350 is a special bike that I hope the moto community adopts quickly. It's got the torque of a 250f and power and of a 250 2T, but will revv to the moon! I think it's an awesome bike from the hour I spent on one. That being said, my #220 frame wants a 450, and I don't particularly enjoy revving my toys to 13k. But don't be put off by me. It's a freakin fantastic bike that I can toss around like my CR 2T yet pull some power off a jump face like a 250f.

I still can not believe how light this bike feels! And I imagine it's a hole shot machine as it revvs another couple thousand RPM above th competition.

Btw, I say unless you're a pro or a crazy fast rider, get the Husky. I don't think us mere mortals need the extra 10% that KTM adds to the tune... I would love a modern Husky 450! Won a couple shootouts if I recall...

That is funny. Some people me included can tell the difference in an over oiled air filter. Just saying. And the air box mods are dyno proven, to change the powerband shape. But either way, popping some holes in an air box takes about 5 minutes. And resale on Huskys isn't better in my area (SoCal). But I do agree that they are bad ass and next year I'm going husky instead of Ktm. I just hope I don't need to buy sub frames every time I cartwheel it.

I ended up being able to get the best deal and support on the husky so I picked up this jewel this evening! My suspension guy already has me a lighter rear spring on the way. Can't wait to get that swapped out and throw a few laps on it!

I've been in the dyno room and see with my own eyes a 1HP gain from airbox cover on and airbox cover off. Even though there was such a big gain it was almost too much air which made the power curve inconsistent. Drilling the holes is a happy medium.

My point is that in 100 test rides, the average joe ain't ever gonna feel that 1hp gain. You're just making it easier to let dirt clog the filter.

Recently sold my yz250 smoker and picked up a 14' Husky FC450 to do double duty track/enduro. It's going to take some work to get the Husky to shine for enduro but it's getting there. I wish they would just do an overdrive 6th gear on all 450's, the transmission runs out of steam pretty quick when it's geared for enduro. Although you can apparently add an XC-W 450 6th gear to the SX.

it will be awhile before I buy another bike. just got my 15 250f all done up and dialed in. when that time comes though. I rode a 16 350 xc-f. it is the do it all bike. 1 lap comfortable. hopefully they keep getting better and more reliable. of course they might be stupid expensive. never rode a husky 350. imagine its close enuff
