Glad AMA has penalized and fined Reed. Yamaha is bound to let him go since he cant get the hell out of the way when he is getting lapped right? Yamy should show him that they aren't paying for a louse to cruise in 16th, and he should try not to draw attn to himself when he is running 16th, and more importantly while getting lapped, by the other brands, while riding on their bike. I hope Yamaha is not taking the approach of "hire the old guy to sell the other old guys motorcycles, even if he has to get in the leaders way while getting lapped, to get attention". Its starting to look that way. Hell, hes got 5 other brands in front of him AND his teamate in front of him and he decides to stay in the race line when Dungey comes to lap him. He has no respect for the race that he competes in, and is just drawing a paycheck while clowning around. Reed is on this "grampa is hangin on to the longevity trophy" retirement tour he's on, and Yamy could get Coop a more serious teammate. When you set back a leader 3 seconds over a 3 lap period, you become the clown of the show. Do something Yamaha, the AMA finally did.

You should get out and torque your sprocket bolts more often.

Perhaps the bright lights are in your eyes!

Yamaha should give him a raise and pay the fine for him. Dungey is a weasel. KTM should hire Chad....now that's a story!!

Hmmm...could have a point. Perhaps his grip is loose? Renthal grip glue is superior in these situations.

Thank you. Should be fitting in nicely round here with the "he held his line" crowd.

Will ktm fire Dungey for not being able to pass a 35 year old lapper?

I like your question. I would say if he was in 17th position behind said 35 yr old lapper it would be up for discussion. When the lapper acts uncharacteristic of a lapper and stays in the race line to the point where a rules violation is later confirmed, it becomes obvious that the lapper affected his race. Probably made Dungey wonder what was going to happen if he got too close being that the lapper was obviously acting with some sort of grudge against him.

You MAY be right. Although the same was said about the AMA taking any action on the matter. Wouldn't happen and it did. I bet Yamy wishes they had Wilson at this point instead.

With what Reed has done for/meant to that brand over the course of his career, the thought of him being let go is ludicrous.

This is an interesting take.

Should definitely set sag and chain tension.

Brightlights are in everyone's eyes! I think Kawi will pay the fine for him on this one, not Yami. Chad is working on a spot on the Kawi team for future years so he can have more main events than Laracco or whatever he is going for.

He spanked up on Yami pretty hard during his Suzuki days.

I was going to reverse the chain direction first to see if it helped the spokes stay tight.

There is no bad publicity. Only publicity. Yamaha is in the news because of Reed's actions. Reed is getting attention and is the subject of nearly all of this weeks Vital threads.

I suspect Reed and Yamaha are thinking "Mission Accomplished".

I think Reed getting fired is a bit far fetched, Yamaha might have a chat with him, but they definitely won't fire him. He has a contract with them. Considering he got so much attention from it, Yamaha would get that same attention and they probably don't care. If you're pissed with him and feel he should be fired, fair enough. But he already got a punishment for his actions.
