Still, two things,
First (quoting from your own link)......
"The Metropolitan Police recorded 109 homicides in London in 2016 - a 9% decrease on 2015 figures".

Second, London's a BIG city, have you got figures for and equivalently sized(8.5 million in 2014) U.S. city?

Still, like I said, many more murders than I'd like

109 homocides in a city with what, 8-9million people isn't much.

OT, will be interesting to see how this develops

Homicides are terrorist attacks now? A lot of gang related violence though, .London is a cesspit in general

On the attack today, something makes me a little suspicious about an idiot driving in to a load of French school kids and 'trying' to attack MPs just when we about to invoke Article 50 and start negotiations.

It is weird...coincidence or not.

They still haven't released any motives yet.
Should be interesting to see their motives/who's behind this so-called possible terror attack.

I would rather they didn't, that my biggest issue with any of these attacks. They should focus on the victims rather than make a celebrity of the culprits.

So true. The media is giving the culprits exactly what they want.

Yep. I wouldn't mention his name...let alone his whole history (which is what the media seems to do).

Which numbers do you use? I.e. Are you comparing homocides in the area of greater London with just the metropolitan population? London is huge and I don't get the same number or ratio as you do

They should mention exactly who he is, where he is from and his background. They won't though. People need to wake up to the real problem, Europe is a mess right now

Very true unfortunately, you hit the nail on the head. Not being able to question or criticise things without being called a bigot or a racist is a huge part of the problem.

Im agreeing with you. I just divided 8.7 million by 109 homocides. I dont know if there is another way to figure it, just thought of it off the top of my head?

What is the common link with all these cities? Hint- a certain political party has run these cities for ever..

Though I can of course see both sides of the argument, I'm forced to agree. We need to see the problem clearly for what it is, and that can only be done by knowing the details.

Pretty simple actually. People are evil, some more than others. Just don't discuss it here or you'll get clicked.

I think it proves that police in the UK need to be armed in general and not limited to specific areas. When something like this happens it is good to have armed and well trained people to deal with it.

I do find it funny that the people in charge are protected by armed men with assualt rifles while telling the rest of us guns are bad.

Eh. The guy who did the most damage was in a car and I'm not sure how having more people with more guns would have stopped him from killing the number of people he did. And the guy with the knife was shot and killed after one attack.

As far as people in charge having protection that's because they have far more people who want to assassinate them vs murder you.

He gets what he wants, those that want to use it as an excuse to generalise a billion people get what they want and the papers get to sell more copies....everyone's a winner. The circle goes round and round.

I would rather he remains a nobody, his reason for doing it is an irrelevance. Give me a double page spread of the heroes that helped thanks.

On the police having guns note, we look to you guys for a good reason not to, and polls among police have shown on multiple occasions in general they do not wish to be armed.

Post a reply to: Lots of shootings and terrorism in London lately...
