2007 YZ450F Build

I just bought this 2007 YZ 450F off of a guy on Craigslist for 600.00. Bike was not running due to bent shift shaft and hole in the case near clutch rod. Bike was in overall descent shape but I could tell it had been ridden hard and abused. Rear hub was broken and sprocket was missing. The story was the chain flew off and broke case, bent shaft and broke hub along with sprocket. Seems to be a lot of damage for popping a chain but whatever. Further examination revealed cracked front fender and just overall fading. I took engine out of the bike and removed head and engine covers. I will be replacing shift shaft and seal along with clutch basket due to deep grooves. I didn't find any metal shavings and a moving parts were in spec. Inspection of valves revealed a lot of carbon along with a lot of carbon on the piston. No grooves or deep scratches in top end. Will be checking valve clearances tomorrow along with cleaning carbon buildup and a mild port and polish. Have some questions with pictures below... Everything else seems to be in pretty god d shape except for misc bearings and bushings on linkages.

Bike came with Renthal fat bars and a full FMF exhaust

Plans- I have twins on the way so the wifey would kill me to dump the money I wanted to in this thing so I'm going to be building on a budget.

First I polished up frame and linkages with mothers and elbow grease. Tomorrow is getting in there and really getting it good. I also plan on cleaning carbon off of piston and valves and adjusting valves. Putting motor back together with new gaskets. I am awaiting my shift shaft so in the mean time I ordered the following...

- clutch cable - Pro Taper Grips - Billet Chain slider - Billet Shifter - Rental Sprockets - New uni filter - Oil filter - D.I.D chain - Tusk Levers - New Case - Bearings and seals - New pads - New blue hoses.

I am going to be addIng more and more each week.

Have a few questions? I noticed heat discoloration on crank. It's not seized and turns over smoothly without any friction. All clearances in check! Is this a heat mark from the factory? Also...
What is the best way to clean your engine to make it look new? And with the whole in the case where it is located, will oil leak out of the shaft or is it not in direct oil flow? Was thinking of doing a patch job if so until I have the money for new Hot Rods Crank, Vertex Piston, Stage 2 Hot cam and new valves. Will need some insight along the way. By the end I plan on having it fully modified for 2-3k with all new internals and bike set up just like I want it including everything bike. Do you think I got a good deal for 600?
