Do you have any knowledge of a 2011? It's a 1911 comparable gun but holds a double stack. I've been looking into a 1911 lately, but the idea of paying over a grand for a gun to only hold 7 or 8 rounds just doesn't get me real excited.

Only 7 or 8 rounds ? you should only need 3 and that is why they make magazine holders for guys who cant hit the target.Tongue . I have lots of pistols that hold 12 or more round but none of them compare to a full size 1911. Cool

STI makes a bunch of different ones. Good stuff. They keep the grip as slim as possible.

While I agree with you from a self defense aspect, i have yet to find myself in need of using a gun for self defense. I also have a 9mm that I carry when I decide I want to so the 1911/2011 would mostly be a range gun that I shoot for fun.

7 or 8 rounds at the range Means I spend twice the time loading and half the time shooting. I mostly want the 2011 or 1911 mostly so I can have a .45 but also because they're just cool looking guns that are highly customizable. I don't want to carry it so the size doesn't bother me with a double stack mag.

I have that covered also, I have 8 or more magazines for each of my pistols and whatever guns I take to the range I pre- load several magazines and then when they are all empty I am done with that gun for the day, saves on ammo that way. I wont carry a full size 1911 I have several smaller frame pistols for concealed carry. All my guns are for fun, I have never even felt the need to use one for self defense even though I have one with me most of the time. Wink

This thread makes me salivate.

Here in Canada they are trying to ban the SKS because it is an "assault rifle". I miss living down there.

A gun a month...lol. And I thought I was developing a disease there for a while. My problem was my tastes in guns kept going up with each purchase. I'll have nearly a year to think about my M16 purchase while the paperwork gets processed and don't think I'll be buying anything else gun related for a while. That full auto stuff ranks right up there with buying works bikes. Best part about it though is that not much else appeals to you when you get your "grail" gun...or bike. Saves you a small fortune in future purchases!Laughing
This is what sleeps next to me at night.

As for the full-auto stuff my dad is pretty deep into it. I couldn't tell you how many he has now. started with a M-11 many years back and hasn't stopped yet. haha Me and him competed in a subgun match at Knob Creek last Oct. I won't tell you about my less than stellar results but I plan on trying again. haha You'll probably wanna get some type of subgun in the future is my bet considering the price of ammo. This is him with my favorite one.

Look at my post above. the Para-Ordnance P-14/45 has a double stack magazine with a 14 round capacity 1911style. A really sweet gun and perfect for target shooting really.

Yo, lost boy it's March 10th... looking forward to seeing the new purchase. I picked up a S&W lightweight yesterday. Not sure why, but I 'm still on this odd revolver kick. Didn't have the S&W I was looking for, but felt obligated to take something home haha.

Next month I'm going back to the state that I identify as a resident of. It might be just the right time to pick up a .45

I bought 7 guns last year and a bunch of mags. Haven't bought a new one since October.

My last purchase. A CZ SP-01 Tactical in urban grey.

Never shot a CZ, but that is a sweet looking gun. Now put that threaded barrel to use.

You're missing out. I have another black SP-01 Tactical that isn't a suppressor ready model. They are friggin tack drivers. Everyone who shoots them falls in love. I also have a Wilson Combat Beretta 92A1 that cost just under $2k, and the stock CZ I paid $550 for smokes it.

Eventually I'm gonna get a pistol can. Getting a rifle can first for the ARs.

Lostboy, I had an opportunity to pick one of those up on the cheap from a client. I didn't know much about them at the time, so I passed. Still kicking myself for not doing it.

How was it? I've never shot a Kel-Tec of any type. But good lord, look at it! Just looks like you could have some fun with that thing.

I shot some rifled slugs and some home defense rounds through it and it kicked pretty good with the slugs but it also had a good recoil pad and muzzle brake on it but it felt soooo good. Evil Evil
