Will a 89/90 tank fit the 91? I'm looking to do my 91 in red, but it seems all plastic in ufo is fluoro red for these. 89 plastics red is more what im looking for.
If the later (2000+) red or earlier pre'90 is availble for shrouds and sideplates please let me know who supplies these. Just dont want pink/ fluoro
Thanks

This is my 1990 with 91 rear end air box and seat fitted
You can retro fit a 1989-1990 cr 125 subframe side panels rear mudguard seat and tank straight on the bike.

i have these parts if you need them

Looks good, so youve done subframe, seat and airbox I take it.
Have you used a ceet high foam?

Yes its got a hi foam seat,
the 89 tank will fit the 91 bike.
The high foam seat gives the bike a nicer riding position
More like a later bike

swapping tank and rads was a modification that someone made back in days. Andrea bartolini raced in '90 season with such a bike. I'm building a replica of that bike. '91 subframe, plastics and seat fit '90 frame. talking of CR 125, actually also 93 tank fits 91/92 frame, so, for transitive property...
by the way, here are some pics of the original bike and my replica...still a long way to go

Nice project. Did bartolini use 89 conventionals on his bike?
Thanks for the info guys. Is the 89 250 Cr tank much different from the 125?
I will stay with the 91 subframe/back end and use a 89 tank I think. Xotom125, can you give me condition & price for your 125 tank pm?

To conclude this query, I bought a 89 125 tank on ebay, it appears to be identical to the 89 250 tank..although part # is different. Of course it may be a 250 tank sold as a 125 tank...looks narrow and correct on the bike.
It fits well but I needed to loosen the tank mounts to get the frame bolts through and into the frame. A 3 mm spacer plate under the tank mounts should be ideal, or heat gun massage. Slight issues with rads and shrouds bolt hole aligning but minor.
I have my ceet hi foam, now need a cover to fit, have 2 here that are too small...
