Oakland disappointment

That sucks, but it was a DAY RACE. Because of that, they were expecting fans to be there at 8am and so on. Still sucks, but . . .

If it were a night race, the pits close at 5 - 5:30p.m. It's just the way it's always been.

There's no doubt it's mostly the stadium controlling parking fees and entry at these events. Parking at Anaheim is $20 and this year there was no time limit on re-entry. Probably the most casual I've seen it in years.
No immigrants in Anaheim?

My friends that ride and I avoid the Oakland SX. I live about an hour and 10 mins away... we just say no to that race. Too much of a nasty place.

Also, parking at the santa clara race was a joke. 50 bucks plus per car. And a long, long walk..... if they want the attendance to go up they need to make it more friendly. Currently it's not!
