Hopefully this doesn't come across as what most would say 'typical aussie talking about an aussie rider', but with this i don't care if he was aussie or not, the kid has some serious balls!! After breaking his back in nasty practice crash, jake spent 7-8 weeks in traction up till christmas, where he pretty much boarded a plane for the states within days of leaving hospital to do his best at fulfilling his TLD Honda deal. He's been on the bike for around a week (as seen in the TLD test vid) and is supposedly hitting the start line at A3. Incredible, and huge props to Jake, prior to the injury i had him tipped for a top 5 finish, so hopefully he can get back to speed asap and have some fun. Rock on Jake!

That is incredible. I broke my back in a car accident and I race but of course not on the level of Jake Moss. It takes awhile to get your full movemen in your legs and back. I don't think that people understand how much you use your back in everyday life and everyday movement. Props to him for a speedy recovery.

I was thinking about how bad ass this guy must be when i was watching that video yesterday. After breaking his back not too long ago, and he is already back on the bike. I would love to see him up on the podium (even though i know the west is stacked). But talk about a come back story.
Do all Aussie have the "ride through pain" mentality like Reedy and Moss do? If so where the hell can i get some. haha

Indeed, as mentioned, he only got out of the hospital bed just before christmas, and it was 8 weeks before the accident happened, and from the details on the crash it was a pretty damn nasty get off. Incredible to say the least.

Aussie as a whole is pretty big into sport in general, its a very big part of the culture, and part of the mentality surrounding sport in the younger years is to be strong, to grit ya teeth and dig deep, through injury or not - (in a positive way). It's more about instilling a sense pride and a belief that you just have to do the best you can and everyone will respect that. So i guess you can say Reed and Moss just publically get to show that fighting spirit that seems to be part of the aussie mindset. I thought Reedy dug deep when he rode after the big get off last year, but this has to take the cake for a crazy comeback.

Here's to a fun ride this week at San Fran and a good result. Even just making the main will be a huge achievement in this short period of time.

I was already pulling for him big time after I saw a good effort put in before his injury and since we have similar injuries I will be pulling for him even harder now and using him for my own confidence. Best of luck to him.

Scratch that. The team wants Jake to get another week of riding under his belt before he races. He will be at A3 for sure

His twin brother is equally as impresive.
If you want to ever meet a down to earth father just go up to Mossy SNR if he is in the pits and have a yarn (talk) with him, he will blow you away with down to earthness (made up word)
