Few more parts off the bench. Found the coolant leak, lol.



Rear suspension regreased/replaced, installed carb, new cables and PC clutch perch. Next step is rebuilding the suspension.

Not much as far as progress. Got the shock stripped down, the body and spring were painted so I had to strip those. Couldn't save the original finish on the shock body but I saved the purple spring. Waiting on fluids.

Here's my Four Buck Backgrounds. Found some clear backgrounds on Ebay for $3.74, had the black sign vinyl.

Couple more updates. Bike is just about done, just waiting on graphics from Evo-mx. Rebuilt suspension, more cleaning, soda blasting, etc. New rear tire and drive. Found the yellow front plate on ebay, cleaned up nice, good enough for a rider. Runs pretty good with the PC pipe.

If anyone has tried putting a set of numbers on one of these, that is why preprints were invented.

Here's a pic of my bikes in 99. What I did was run my numbers onto the air box a little. Lining up 3 digits is a lost art. My rule of thumb is you always want your numbers to run parallel to the bottom of your seat...regardless of how it lands on the side panel. If you'd use 7" numbers it would help too. I loved the 96-98 Rms.

That's the way the numbers should look!! Looks good! I always lined mine up with the seat as well, it always looks funny when people don't angle them right.

Thank you for putting period correct numbers on it! It drives me nuts when people put pre printed "new style" numbers on OEM looking restores.

Raced these bikes in 97, i liked the bikes other than it took alot to get them to go....slow as shit stock.

Got a chance to do a break-in ride a few weekends ago. Bike is friggin awesome, I know I'm faster on this than my 05 KX125 and my 05 KX250 I had. And more comfortable too. Suspension is bone stock rebuild, still plush AF. Might go up one on the shock spring though. Only lost my brand new case saver/guard. Pretty sure I forgot to snug it up playing with the carb vent lines. Pilot is way rich, bought a set of pilots to tune that. Runs perfect 1/3 throttle up.

Anyway, I'm a happy camper!

DIY case saver and some pics, I hope those two get along when I'm not around.
