^just to be transparent here, I'm a Stewart fan. I have my own opinions on what they should do, but guess what - my opinion doesn't mean shit (not should it) and I'm well aware of that. But if they are gonna be there, I'm gonna be stoked to watch them and I hope they rip.

Feels like a reality show where everything is scripted but they want you to think it's real. Fact is James is not training to be at an elite level again. He hasn't really done that for a few years. He no longer has the same factory bikes he has had his entire career. So I imagine that contributes to his lack of desire to train and practice and test at an elite level as well.

Will he come back? Who knows. If he does though he will likely never make a top ten again. He has speed to win a random heat race, but don't think he has enough in the tank to crack top 10 anymore, let alone top 5. And a win is absolutely out of the question. Guys like Ken, Marvin, Dungey, Tomac, Anderson basically eat, sleep, and breath this stuff all day every day, just like James use to do. That's what it takes to be elite, and to remain elite. Don't think for a second that James can just jump off the couch onto a bike he barely rides, with little testing and training and will be anywhere close to their level. That's absolutely insane to even think that.

...conditioning is somewhat overrated in SX.
The biggest part of conditioning for SX is the "confidence" factor it gives you. James knows he won't have the conditioning down and that will absolutely affect his confidence. The last race went 24 laps. Dungey and Ken were pushing it all 24 laps. It looked like to me they were at their edge physically and mentally. The intensity of 24 laps on the mind is a lot different then the physical aspect of it. Mentally they looked spent. Hell, I was tired from just watching the intensity lol

No way James has that in him anymore. He is an amazing rider who can still do great things on a bike. No debating that. Maybe he can sneak in a heat race win. But to win a main event? The stars would have to align just right for that to happen again. Meaning it's not going to happen. Heck, look at Reed who is still elite and still putting in work. He has nothing for the top 5 right now, and he has a long way to go to battle with Ken, Dungey, Anderson and Marvin.

Stewart coming back is like when Jordan went to the Wizards. And no one wants to remember that.

Can't wait to see Malcolm as well as James shred the ol SX. People should consider themselves lucky they can still see a motorcycle legend ride in person.

Keep in mind, moto isnt the only source of income for the stewarts. Orange groves and smart investing... like most all SMART people with money, they choose wisely what to spend it on and do what they can to not have to spend any if possible.
