After watching the first 2 rds, and the battle between KRoc & Dunge, I sure wish Feld would get a bit more creative w/ track design. These two went at it for 24 min..both taking virtually the same lines every lap, until some one made the slightest little bobble. I'm not sure what the solution would be... these guys are just shredding thru everything partly because the dang 450's are just too freakin' fast indoors. I'm just prefer the taller, steeper, slower obstacles like the late 90's early 2000 provided.. they seemed to be much more technical-
But in reality, no matter the track design, there is only 1 fast way to go around it, and the top guys are all gonna use that 1 way.
Double the dirt would be great... more obstacles, steeper shorter ramps, shitty transitions, that mean the guys can't jump stuff crazily.
But 450s are too much regardless.

It moto racing between the best riders in the world, really there should not be a great deal of passing, just a faster rider passing a slightly slower riding and moving ahead or if they are the same speed maybe pass back and forth once or twice.
Anderson came from a ways back, Peick made passes, Tomac made passes then got passed.
Thought tonights track was great for riders making passes.
I bet if you tracked the injuries with some sort of "gnarly factor", year to year it would be like back pain and cold weather. People think it's worse, but it's not, it's just riding a bike is dangerous.
What are they gonna do then, huh?
Then we get to the main and its the same two cats running so far out front that even if one makes a major mistake, they still remain top 2. All while weaving in and out of lapped riders for more than 1/2 the race.
Time to change it up. Go to the monster cup type style. Do three 10 min +1. Start the night show off with something else, maybe like AX with the elimination race worth some extra points.
if your better on the 250s then stay in that class.

The last couple of years the frost season has ended extremely early, but you never know until you get there.
Honestly I think I'm going to try to make it to Hangtown this year. I've never been, and it might be right at the time that my son needs to make a decision about a couple of Bay Area grad schools, so I could sort of justify it as "campus visits" with a bit of a detour.
The only flaw with the plan is I have a couple of kids graduating high school and college a few weeks later, so I may have a lot going on........
However I'm liking the idea of more dirt. Now that you say that, the track has been rutting up through to the floor and the base dirt much more so far, (not sure why the powder or white dirt base). I think some bigger (not necessarily jumps) type obstacles might help.
