Dowd did it
And he was like 40++ and got 2nd in last moto at wick when gerkie won
I would build a supercross track 1.5 times longer than the tracks they race at and replicate one to the exact layout
And train to go 30 min at the 20th guys lap ave
And never stop till I get it
Then your on tv and making it happen
Pit Row
I've crashed myself slow haha, but better to keep it on 2 wheels at 30 then to ride like a mad man and sit on the couch for a few months
Do you have a wife, house payments, car payments, kids on the way?
Nealry everyone who is racing and making any type of money at it has been riding since 5 or so years old. Yea, John Down did it but that was a super rare case and also when people werent taking racing as seriously as they are now.
Theres kids who basically live year round at training facilities from age 5 who wont make jack shit in the sport.
Speaking from my experience trying to simply earn a pro card while working 50 hours a week and going to engineering school, its not as simple as buying a bike and deciding you want to make a career out of racing. Ill never make money doing this but if I could make the motos at a national that would be a dream come true, but Ive also been riding since 14 and Im 26 now, doing it totally on my own since 18.
Making a "career" in areanacross when starting riding at 25 is in my eyes impossible, and im sure i will be proven correct... But if you said something like you want to get good enough to race A class locally or qualify for arenacross mains eventually.. thats a much more achievable goal. Not many people have a "career" in arenacross and those that do are at the tippy top.
Again, not trying to be a dick, just speaking from experience in a similar situation. You just dont have enough time on the bike starting at 25 to learn the skills needed to race areanacross and make money doing it.
