Just a list of what we replaced from stock for background info: Wiseco outer basket, Wiseco fibers and plates, kept stock OEM inner basket.
So to the problem: We've done tons of clutches before on our previous bikes, so we know 99.99% about what were doing, however this is our second clutch on our 450, and the first one went perfectly, yet this ones giving us problems. Everything went together very smoothly, no left over washers or anything, but when we engage the clutch and put it in gear, the clutch doesn't fully engage and it stalls out as if the clutch hasn't even been pulled in while shifted into gear from neutral. We've taken it fully apart and back together and it's still doing it. Could it be the adjustment? We have a lot of free play when the adjuster is all the way in, and It adjusts back out to my liking. I always adjust it out to my liking before I get on the track, and back in when I'm done so the cable isn't stressed while hot. So that's it. Anybody??? Thanks!

This is an old post but I'm looking for the same answer. OEM basket/PP, new Hinson fiber, steel and Springs, clutch adjust to place in gear but when on a stand, the wheel spins at high rpms with the clutch pulled in. I've adjusted levers to get max pull and nothing helps. Any thoughts? I did remove the 2 rings against hub per Hinson instructions.

If you removed the 2 rings on the inside against the hub (small friction plate and judder spring) I assume you replaced them with one normal friction plate, right?

I installed the Hinson clutch per instruction. I'm assuming that it included the additional plate?

It's not surprising if the back wheel still spins with the clutch pulled in and the bike in gear when the bike is on the stand. There is still a little drag on the clutch even if operating properly. How does it function if you put it in gear off the stand? Does it drag badly or stall the bike?

It's dusted to where I can put it in gear and pull away no problem. I was just concerned how fast the wheel spins while on the stand.. maybe I give it a ride and see how it goes. Thanks!
