Rained all last night. Got up to get at the bike, due to riding more then maintenance it caught up with me. Figured I would knock it out and go for an afternoon ride. So, start futzing with the carb, the air screw fell out. Got a new one tried to put it in on the bike as it sits. Figures you gotta take the carb off. So off with the rear subframe, shock, pull the carb, pull that apart might as well service that. Get that done, realize Im gonna replace the vent hoses. Done. Air box is filthy, muddy. unbolt that from the subframe and high pressure wash that. Get the carb back on, realize I gotta replace the brake fluid in the front. Still daylight out, go after that. So I make a brake bleeder, drain the fluid bleed the front brakes set that up, pads are crap. Replace the front pads. Service the brake lever, sun is still high. In fact its lighting my work. Get the front wheel back on, brakes, futz with the fork alignment, done, fresh air filter, bolt up the subframe, tank, seat, hand guards, check the throttle pull the bike off the stand, rear wheel is low on air. Pull the air line, air goes in...
Comes right back out. Time for a new rear tire.
I guess it was in the cards that I wasn't going to ride today. Back out to the shop. Time for beer.

I guess if it was a two stroke, I wouldnt need to put a stupid freaking air screw in it...

Top it off with some 91 octane and head out.
I prefer to find a buddy who is much better and faster at working on bikes, grab some beer and hang out in the garage while he works away. Award him with some beers and dinner and we can go riding together the next day or weekend.
Of course, those are the good friends who don't mind working on bikes...even if it's mine.
Com'on Andrew, just get it done. This Sierra Nevada just tastes so good right now.
Just sayin....
SX is on soon too.
