KTM and Husky Two Stroke Owners

I've had a 16 tc250 for a couple months now and put roughly 15 hours on the bike. Coming off an 02 cr250, it doesn't feel like this bike needs anything Laughing But tinkering is what we love about bikes as well right?!? So the adjustable power valve has me intrigued. I have the red spring in and I've ordered up a tach meter and an adjusting tool and am going to play with the adjuster and see what happens. Do you guys notice any major changes or have a setting you like? Not looking for concrete advice or anything, just opening up for discussion and some real world feedback

So the second chart, is 8t all the way screwed in? Looks like you want that sucker all the way out... Up to 7 hp difference at 7500 rpm, damn

Keep in mind on the chart 1T is just a 1/2 turn. That makes sense. I believe around 2 turns in from full out is around stock?

I used to have a 13 KTM 250sx... I tried all 3 springs and played with different settings... I ended up with the red one at flush level....loved it. If I went out all the way... the power was too abrupt and tired me up quicker. Just my 2 cents. Braapppp

I've seen, several times on KTM Talk, people / the man himself (John Dean) put up dyno graphs and a lot of other information with regards to PV tuning / springs.

Check out JD's website, I reckon.

I have to say, I'm always stunned when I meet owners of the last few decades KTM 2ts that don't know of , or have never tried the various options with the PV. Dumb, is not the word for it, when you have such an easy / quick method of changing the engines characteristics. Magazines that never try / mention the adjustments are even worse. I'd damned near kill to have such an easy adjustment feature on my big 2t. But, there's no PV to play with on it - a CR500 engine is just 3 very basic steps (CDI, Reed Valve and Watercooling) above a BSA Bantam engine in sophistication.......... Woohoo
