Trying to get the shop cleaned up and tired of all the frame machine stuff scattered everywhere. Built some more steel racks on wheels to put all everything on. Damn wooden blocks...gotta be a million of them.

Will keep you guys posted on it for sure, and more photos to come! I've had a few wasp encounters with this beast, one was when I honked the horn and they flew all over the place Laughing

That is awesome, simple yet detailed. Makes me want to make a shelf like that for my shop!

And yes we do plan to leave the body as is! The old campershell in the back is also vintage I believe and not only that it preserved the original wood, as it was rarely taken off. It looks like it was painted a few colors in its lifetime. But a dark green seems to be the original as a lot of it shows under the hood and the interior is green also.

Looks like a fun project. I had a '50 chevy pu. Wish I had it now.

She runs! Woke it up like it came off the line the day before. The wiring is pretty bad though, will probably have to replace most of it. For some reason I didn't realize many old trucks have the gas tank behind the seat! Grinning Huh

It has the original 215 straight six, wish I had the flathead, more iconic haha. 1950 Chevy is a cool looking truck, hell they all looked good then!

I think Chevy did that all the way up until at least 72. Newmann can correct me if I'm wrong, but I had a buddy in high school that drove the 69 and it had the tank behind the seat. That make you feel a little uneasy?

The wiring was the reason I got rid of the Chevy. 6 volt. Didn't have the time even though there wasn't that much to replace. There were other little quirks like the starter was on the floorboard next to the gas pedal and the windshield wipers were vacuum powered.

I would lose the shell. It looks like it was used to transport isotopes to Los Alamos.

Haha the old camper shell is the best part! Kinda dirty back there right now but soon it'll be clean enough to live in. As for now, it's being used as a storage place for Hoosier tires lol

Things could go wrong really quick with the way the tank is located, different times back then haha

Minor project but I recently painted my office from a yellow color to this green shade. I also put in some book shelves that are made with reclaimed wood from our boat dock. They're REALLY weathered. Lol. Hung them with some flanges and 12" pipe nipples. I made the light fixture several years ago for a room in my old house and decided to re-purpose that as well.

I still have a ton of that wood left. I'll either make some end tables for my back patio with them or I'll build a cabinet under the book shelves.

bought a '95 camper trailer last week for dirt cheap (under $3k)... found out why it was dirt cheap shortly after.

every water line leaked from lack of winterizing, toilet was broken (leaked), had some pretty severe water damage in the ceiling (no wonder there's a brand new membrane roof on top).

also, i bet i cleaned out upwards of 50 pounds of wasp nests and mud dweller nests out of every nook-cranny-heat duct-water heater-etc... holy shit lol.

got it all set up and took it camping last weekend and had a great time. have a small leak in the roof from the old as dirt shitter-vent, but other than that everything worked great.

it will be my winter project.

Nice fixture. Is the power outlet on the left wall at the end of the beam?

My dad has a camper from about that year, we had the same problem with water leakage from the roof, he ended up getting it rebuilt, and top of that put bedliner over it. Painted it to look good and now it's awesome haha. I remember one year we were at the dunes and it started raining so we slept with pots on our beds lol

Yeah. It's just a plug in fixture right now. I'll eventually wire it to the switch that's on the wall. I'll probably add a dongle switch which is a double switch in place where there is only one now so I don't lose the fan and light switch that's there now. I'm too busy with school right now to deal with that part.

The best part about literally everything you see is it was all found in a dumpster. The flanges, pipe nipples, wood, light fixtures, rope, mason jars and everything I used to make that was found in a trash pile from the galleria mall or from demolishing our boat dock at our lake. I've only paid for the lamp wire and bulbs in the lamps. So maybe $10 in material for all of that.

So a lot happened with the 52 today

New battery, fuel lines, hooked up the throttle linkage, bled the brakes, put in coolant and new brake fluid, aired up the left rear tire and...

DROVE IT!

The heater core has a nasty leak and drips onto the floorboard, the starter's a little weak (not sure why yet) but other than that it's a runner
