If it's a hand to mouth thing, cut you a straw and stuff some toilet paper in there to get you some resistance.
Figure out what works for you, but don't give up. Like I said before, it's a habit I thought I would never be able to break, but glad I have so far.
Good luck.
Yes ok, for the first couple of weeks people seemed to go out of their way to annoy me but I tried to remember it wasn't them it was the fags. Also before I felt better I developed a cough as my lungs 'cleared out'. Whenever I weakened I would look at (or picture) a particularly dirty smoker who I hated and think to myself "don't be like him!".
p.s. Have you ever noticed how often smokers have a filthy brown film over the lenses of their glasses? Imagine how dirty the rest of them is

But for sure you can quit. You can do it. Just keep telling yourself that.
Thank me later.
In all honesty i need to say that although i had no smokes today. The craving for one was still there but not in a sense of i really needed one so that was kind of a good feeling the flip-side, I apparently got a lot grumpier towards my kids. SO not too happy about that and gong to trie to keep myself in check as good as possible for that part.
I'm also a little exited because my wife decided too trie quitting also.
I'll keep you guys posted and thanks again for the support and advice
Good luck!
Me and the wife want to go there and i think it would be possible because she's a RN / BSN and she could get a working visa/greencard for herself and the family, me and the 3 kids because of her degree.
The only thing that concerns me is that me being a foreigner with no degree's and only experience i will probably won't find a job very quickly and i kind of want a job too provide for my family.
And we would almost need al new furniture again. so thats
a: expensive
b: likely impossible because we have no idea on cost of those things there
c: we need schools for the kids
d: we need a vehicle
e: we need a home
so it's just not that easy unfortunately
If i would be lucky and be instant rich tomorrow it would definitely be easier
I believe you said that you were a tradesman? In a pinch you could always go to work at Home Depot or Lowes initially. Not the greatest pay but combined with your wife's income it wouldn't be terrible.
The Seattle area has had radio ads running the last year for apprenticeships in nearly all the trades, so that area is obviously understaffed. Not sure about other regions but chances are that you'd be able to find something that could grow like that.
Pit Row
But i can do pretty much anything on a house exterior and interior, i have been a self employee for 10 years
I have build 5 or 6 Skeleton units (thats how we call it here=Normal USA homes ) i have done about 15-20 roofs, I have experience in drywalling i can tile i have experience in concrete , liquid flooring and in stone carpets.
I can basically build a entire home except for electricity and piping
I can spray paint with airless machinery and can do it the artisanal way also.
I know its a hard and long process and thats also something we r scared about because our kids r now at the age that they could still easily adjust, so everything is based upon if i'm able to get a job there i would probably leave half a year to a year upfront to get everything set and to make the transition easier when she and the kids make the move.
But we can still dream though, i'm not willing to give up on my dream and probably never will
Don't know if thats normal but still happy i stopped smoking, the wife is true day one without a smoke but she's feeling it a lot harder than i am.
I have never struggled to find a job here due too my experience in all honesty Degree's r not that important here especially for anything involved within construction.
Ive send in my resume yesterday too two different companies for 2 different jobs, and hopefully something works out.
The only thing i've found to be hard is to fill in my salary requirements. because i don't know what the specific job would potentially make in that area let alone in usa all together.
I used this timeline to give myself goals. I don't know if it helped or not but it was interesting to see what was happening with each passing day.
