Guillod to TLD KTM?

http://www.motocrossplanet.nl/nieuws-int/54489/Valentin-Guillod-al-dich…

Article is in Dutch. But it says Valentin Guillod is close to sign a contract with TLD KTM to race in the US in 2017.
Bummer we lose another great GP rider. Sad

There were several hints that he was trying to get a ride for some supercrosses.
Surprises me though that he wants to do outdoors as well and on a 250.

The swiss supercross invasion is real guys, soon we will have 3/22 spots in a main Cool

Same thing Reed had to do to get over here, worked out OK for CR22.

So... if you make the list of fors and againsts for the under 23 rule... what do we get?

FOR: Febvre, Gasjer, Coldenhoff

AGAINST: Tonus, Guillod, Ferrandis, Ferris, Osborne...

Who else...

Yet again a victim of the 23 year old rule.

Kullas, even got on the podium at Kegums when he filled in on the factory Husqvarna last year. He had to move up this year and he has been around the 16-25 places all year. Second moto at Assen was his best moto, 12th.

Not surprised Guillod as always stated that he liked the 250 more and has always said he would like to race in the us including supercross

Currently TLD has these riders for 2017: Alex Martin, Shane McElrath, Mitchell Oldenburg, and Jordon Smith... With Sean Cantrell moving up sometime during outdoors (and Justin Hoeft is riding again, so who knows when he'll move up)... I could only see them brining over Guillod if he ends up with the same deal that Mitchell had before, SX only and outdoors if someone else gets hurt.

ML512 i like the way you think although i think that it would be opposite full outdoors and supercross when someone gets hurt.
Because his outdoors skills r on point and SX is new to him and that could give him some extra time to learn and get those dialed in.
But that brings another question to my head, where does Nelson go when he's healed up if he's even possible to ride again, how is Shane doing in his recovery and when he's expected back , where does Frye go does he still have contract with them?

the guy would nt go train in the Sand last year .Like his team wanted . that made his intentions clear imo. He wanted to go to the states . Also i think what he did was a big black mark to trying to get a top ride this year . The one thing he needed to work on was his sand riding (he is a great hard pack rider),which is why his team set it up . He spilt up with them because of it .

Actually, still the other way around. In Supercross, you split the riders up and it's easier to run Guillod in SX because they would have two guys on one coast and three on the other. Now the team wouldn't want five guys for outdoors... It's hard to support that many riders. For instance, Oldenburg was to be benched after Glen Helen this year (they had five riders at this time) but Hill's injury allowed him to continue on. Especially my version because of Cantrell coming up during outdoors, as that puts them down for six bikes... If Guillod comes over, it's to race SX in his first season. The top teams are already pretty packed, so no team will take on a guy from the GPs for outdoors only.

Troy takes care of his guys. If Jessy is able to return one day, they'll have a spot for him.

I spoke to him last week. He still doesn't have anything lined up yet for next year. He's rehabbing his knee and actually enrolled in college.

Crazy guillod doesnt have a deal for MXGP , for his first full season in mxgp he did ok.
Because his current team is going to split up. Wilvo and standing construct are the 2 major sponsors.
Wilvo will start their own team next year (mx2 only) and there is no room for Guillod. And Standing construct are also starting their own team , and no room for Guillod either.

Didn't know that, shame guillod has the talent to be top guy in a few years. I read 24mx honda might not run a team in 2017.

Wasnt it already mx 2 team only? They just gave him a ride? So why they couldnt do it next year? Unless thata his own choice and he would like to go to usa.

Kemna will be yamaha's official factory mx2 team hence the reason they can't give him a ride for 2017

But he had a contract option for next year. Yamaha told him at Lommel that they weren't gonna take him. So since then he'S probably been on the look out for possible teams

Do you know how many dudes have had to make a career out of staying on a good ride in the small class because there wasn't opportunities in the big class that didn't make them live on the poverty line?!

Is he going to race in 2017? He did pretty good in supercross for a rookie. Even grabbed a 4th

That sucks for Frye. I know he wasnt supposed to ride for TLD this year, he was going the orange birage route that savagty rode for outdoors in 2013, and that dakota alix rode for in 2015. But since they folded that up on the pro level, that slide him into a TLD spot. Bummer if he doesnt get another shot on good equipment for 2017.
