Sweet find!! I think it was a practice bike or something from the looks of it. Also the front number plate is not correct. It's missing a lot of the factory parts but otherwise a cool looking bike!

I am pretty sure it is his dad who is selling it. And I can't quite remember because I was pretty young and wasn't really a Damon fan until his Kawasaki days but was his dad his mechanic during those days? Either way, I am sure he has a lot more info on the bike. Says in the ad the bike won the Troy, OH race.

And thanks Lester, lurk more than I post and don't know the proper CL etiquette, just figured someone might want or appreciate it! --PS, Love your bike collection.

It is right down the street from my office so I might go check it out either way.

You bet wacker! Thanks for the compliment and definitely thanks for sharing! I'm a lurker too, up here in NorCal. I wish I had the cash for that bike. I'd pay Mr. Huffman via Paypal and have you hold the bike for me until one of my buddies down south could go pick it up from you. Wink

His dad's name is Dave, and they lived in that area when I was young. My mom worked with his mom. It's quite possible it's him selling it.

Damon is a police officer now and works for LAPD. They had a interview with him recently to see what he's been up too. He's been a cop for several years now and loves it.

That's awesome, thanks for the reply. I would have never thought. Good for him! His sister used to babysit me pretty regularly I guess at their house in canyon country.

Another thing that's funny about the add is that he didn't win Troy in 95, Lamson did and it actually cost him the points race haha. His 95 bike had conventional forks for the outdoors.

Thanks for all the great info. I'm glad they followed up with him and did that interview. It's interesting to see that he's just an average guy now days, and isn't interested in riding.
My kids school has about 4 events a year were they have a Kona ice truck there, Ojai is a long way from San Clemente.
