Holy s***

Haven't missed an outdoor moto in probably 10 years. Those 4 were some of THE BEST I've ever seen. The track is excellent for passing. I can not even imagine how nuts it would have been if Dungey and Anderson were healthy and challenging for wins.

The Wick IS MOTOCROSS. It's sandy, rough, and all around gnarly. You could hear the crowd most of the way around the track on the broadcast. The chest facing GoPro footage was super gnarly and I'll be showing it to anyone who says that motocross is "easy." There were some insane passes all the way through the pack in each moto. Screw "rhythm lanes" and huge jumps, the Wick is better off for not having them.

Please don't ever skip the wick again.

It wasnt HOT there yesterday. It was in the upper 60's (low 70's) with light rain.

i'm from ny and made the trip up there for the first time yesterday.

beautiful track- it's a little rough as a spectator for sure.

it was not hot at all though- real comfortable almost spring temperature. If it were in the mid 80s to 90s i could see that track being death for a lot of the softer cali boys.

very nice track and facility though, i was impressed.

It definitely doesn't look to be the most spectator friendly track on the circuit, but on TV it sure looks nice. As much as I enjoy watching these guys huck huge gaps, I really like the fact that Southwick didn't have any really big jumps. It put more of a premium on line selection rather than just having the balls to jump something the others won't/can't.

Best race of the year by a long stretch. Love sand races.
What's another good US sand track?

No it's not very spectator friendly, once you find a good spot you keep it. You can get some good spots tho.
This weekend was cool outside but when it's hot and humid it's tuff on riders and bikes. It's definitely a track that separate the men from the boys and is a MUST to stay on the schedule.

I think it's better without the man made triples. Those guys were absolutely flying around the track and barely holding onto the bikes flying down the washboard. Really an incredible thing to watch up close. And that track is just an awesome layout. We had great seats and I've gone to unadilla many times and love that track but I'd say we could watch 85% of the lap at southwick where we can usually only get about 25% of the track view at unadilla. Sitting in the old center grandstands back in the day at southwick you could watch just about the whole lap.

If it wasn't for this track, there probably never would have been a Doug Henry or John Dowd. I'd say that's a quite a contribution to the sport of Motocross.

it goes without saying as well but locking down prime viewing spots for "premium viewing" is pretty fucking cheesy.

they're scooping 40 a head as it is.

Raising the price to 45 and eliminating premium seating would probably be more lucrative.

Great trck toi ride. Cool that it is back on the circuit. Worst to spectate at since Troy. If you don't find one of those 2-3 so called premium viewing spots you are screwed.
