The area a sponsor of the Nationals aren't they? I remember test driving one of their trucks at Budds Creek a couple of years ago.

How could you miss the Tundra commercials, they are everywhere!

Toyota did stop production of something recently I believe, but I don't think that its permanent.

If they're not, they're certainly still advertising them. Grin

I read somewhere that their truck sales actually went up in the past couple years. I don't think they'd stop making them with that happening but who knows.

all truck sales have gone up since the gas went down.

They cut production to let demand catch up to supply, as of now the market is oversaturated with SUV's and Trucks from them like every other MFG. It was a smart move on their part something the "struggling" domestic MFG's should take notes on.

and James rides for Yamaha now and Toyota has a massive stake in Yamaha which is why JGR is running them too because they run Toyota cars at the races.

That is one of MANY reasons including the stupid business decisions made but people in charge it's not 100% the unions fault but they definitly are part of the blame

Maybe, but have you seen the prices for trucks? Brand new full sized trucks in the mid teens. That's a steal.

How many people lost their asses getting out from under their SUV's only to lose again buying an over-priced shit box that won't be worth squat when they trade again?

"IF I was buying a truck, it'd be a Toyota" James Stewart

Seriously though, its awsome to Have Toyota involved with the Nationals/Supercross offering demo drives along with the support of the JGR and Yamaha/JSE teams.

PS If I do decide to buy a new truck this year, I'm going to get a Toyota Tundra right here at the new dealership by my shop. http://scottclarktoyota.com/

Getting rid of old inventory that is the reason they are so cheap. Have you seen pictures of the LA/Long Beach Harbor? It's a sea of new vehicles they are paying rent to store them there and it's killing the dealerships .... basically they need more inventory turnover and aren't seeing it so they will continue to whore out the prices till people start to buy them again. It couldn't be a better time to buy a new vehicle regardless of what it it..... I just bought a new Tacoma and scored on the price big time.

Or maybe it is because some of us need a full size truck for working, hauling bikes and towing trailers.

Try thinking a little bit before you generalize and call people stupid.

When I read the article I was referring to, gas was still relatively high - this was back before Thanksgiving, maybe even earlier, and it was talking about sales from the two previous years compared to other companies. I'm trying to find it online but I think it might have been removed.. Or moved to a subscription part of a site.. Blah.

It doesn't surprise me that truck sales in general have gone up since gas prices have gone down, though. Even though I'm betting gas _will_ go back up.

You are over-reading my post, what I was getting at and what usually drives up SUV and truck sales are the people that don't use them for work....which is very common out here. The demand for "work" and hauling related purchases has and will always remain constant. Bro trucks are out in full effect again whereas when gas prices were up they sat either at dealerships waiting to be "murdered out" or in driveways.

I remember when their truck got stuck on a jump at last years' high point national. Apparently it couldn't handle the payload... 3 monster energy girls.
