Last year I forgot to leave my pocket knife in the car, it was hanging off my pocket when I tried going through the metal detector.. nobody even noticed until then.
On my return flight, I purposely snuck a soldering iron on board. I'm too cheap to ship it, and I didn't wanna throw it away. I'm not gonna say how, but with a little effort I had a soldering iron in the plane.

Seems to me they're better at catching people who don't mean any harm.

Strange, I have never heard that being said about Airbus before. Also, the rudder issue you mentioned, sure you didn't mix it with the 737, where the rudder would lock up/ break and cause several crashes?

Thank God I got the Global Entry now, it's amazing I can travel to 3rd world countries and clear immigration and customs in 5 mins. Land in Miami and your ass better hope you packed a fuggen sandwich in your backpack.
Funny story, last time I flew into Thailand (in 2007) I got off my flight at the (then) new airport in Bangkok and walked straight thru customs. There was nobody at the booths to check passports. The entire flight just emptied and we all went about our business.

It was very refreshing. No bullshit.

That's how most of my flights were when I lived in Europe. Cheap & minimal hassle.


In America, they want us all scared to leave our fucking houses. I cant wait to move back overseas.

Sorry if I didn't use the appropriate wording, I'm not saying Airbus is unsafe. I'll fly on an Airbus. But I'd feel better in Boeing if we hit some nasty turbulence. The rudder issue I'm referring to is Airbus, not sure which model. The FAA made Airbus "fix" the problem after a crash.
By all means take what I'm saying with a grain of salt. I'm not a pilot, nor do I work in the aviation business. I just enjoy playing on the flight simulator, flying rc stuff, and talking to my buddies that are more knowledgeable about planes.

An airbus 304 went down in new York after it flew through the jet wash from a 747.
The first officer tried to control it by aggressive use of the rudder causing a jackshaft failure (as I recall).

Perhaps this is what he's referring. They deemed it pilot error.

Back in the day I remember a DC-9 crashed I think Alaska Air . The horizontal stabilizer was removed for maintenance and the jack screw got damaged Wink . The unit was put back in service and it took a few months to fail . Have a nice flight Wink Unsure
