Do they perform tech inspection in AMA SX/MX, hare scrambles, etc?
If so, what do they inspect?
What about AM racing? Any clubs out there require tech inspections prior to practice/race?
Again, what are they inspecting?
Thanks

In pro when I was they looked the bike over your helmet for dot sticker and put a ziptie around the frame.
In the loretta program when I rode stock 250 way back they stopped the qualified at the area quali as we came off the track. At the regional we went thru a tech ,at Loretta I was alternate and just practiced ,no idea if they looked them over prior to motos.
Do they inspect for safety issues, that the bike's controls work properly?
Do any races that you guys participate in do safety checks as part of Tech or is it run what ya brung?
At the am level they just dont happen very often. NMA were pretty consistent with tech inspections, especially for Ponca. They checked throttle action, pegs, balls on lever ends, working brakes, helmets, etc. Mainly it was for safety reasons. I dont think I ever knew of a tech inspecton at a local level.
Some events they perform a sound check...I think it's the 3 meter sound check...fresh pack silencer and your good!
If your running a FMF TCII it's a simple process. Then they apply a sticker on the number plate that shows you've been through tech or sound check.
Can't speak for a SX or MX....
Hope this answers your question.

Note the AMA tech inspection sticker on Adam's bike in the pic below. You can see it on the #5:
Sometimes they check that you have boots for some reason. Not once have I been sound checked although every club/series says they do.
Edit: The Jdays I went to they didn't even have inspection!
