Also, the stock .47kg spring rates in the CRF450 Showa forks will be perfect if you are in the 190-200lb range. A 5.4kg rear spring will be required to balance the stiffer forks. A Ti YZF250 5.4kg spring will fit your shock and shed about 2lbs from your bike. The stiffer 5.4kg spring will overpower the shock's rebound damping, but servicing it with 7wt Maxima shock oil works perfectly, in lieu of a full shock revalve.

I have a spare Ti YZF250 spring that I will sell cheap if you need it.

Dogged, all the 96 tripple uppers that ive seen so far have fixed bar mounts.. is that incorrect? It would be nice to run twinwalls..

The 96 upper clamps have rigid mounted bars. Use a late model OEM, or aftermarket, top clamp if you want rubber bar mounts.

BTW, the 97 CR125 bottom clamp is the same as the 96 CR250 bottom clamp. Either will work if you want to install a set of Showa Twin Chamber forks.

Thanks Raz. It wasn't my favorite looking bike back then, but it's really grown on me.

$200 that's cheaper then me. I paid $300 for frame and subframe. there is a couple of things I'm not happy with, I should have taken it back straight away Sad

I ordered this seat cover off ebay from some company in Thailand. They make replica covers for every bike made.. color is a little darker than the seat on my bike.. not sure if the seat is faded or if this one is just not exact. Either way I think it will look good with some new plastic.. we will see, im stock piling resto mod parts!

Hi had the same problem too with my 91 CR 250, they make good and cheap covers but colours don't match with the stock ones, so I've found out that former tecnosel owner is still producing good seat covers for vintage bike here in Italy for same price.
If anyone is interested contact him at following link:

http://www.tecno-x.it/

If you still need a good rear brake pedal I probably have one coming from a 92 bike, it should be the same.
Let me know if interested.

I haven't seen any current aftermarket seat cover that can match the colour and quality of the good old Tecnosel and they are very hard to find these days.

I managed to find one for my 96 after serching for years.

Good looking CR! Here's my 95, I went with modded over stock. Tried to keep everything period correct. If your still looking for parts, try eBay. Everything on my bike was bought from eBay.
