Year after year race after race i grow madder at the track builders/designers for the supercross tracks. when is somebody going to stand up and say, look at what is happening to our sport. when the top guys in the world can race on a track because the are crashing there brains out something is wrong. this year is just stupid. look at how many of the tops riders are hurt, but its not just that, the tracks are so difficult they just can race on them or pass on them. you can tell that even the best guys are riding around at the end cause they are so tired. thats not right when they can run full pace outdoors for 35 min. make the tracks easier with bigger wider corners, without a 70 foot triple landing 5 feet from the corner. it wont solve all injures but at least we would see some better racing. when guys got hurt in nascar look what they did, total change that is what our sport needs.
Turtle racing was relatively injury free until 2008 when Red Snapper got ahold of Larry's bag of devil dust and clawed that pretty young thing with 2 teeth missing from the bar.

If Larry would have kept his bag devil of dust in a safe place, then that probably wouldn't have happened, but hey who knows, its hard to cover all the possible situations that might have come up.

It's a simple equation.

The kinetic physic values have all been increased with the more powerful bikes over the years. The 2 stroked got to a certain point and then the thumps have just taken it that much further. So when you plop a human body on one of these bikes eventually someone's gonna get hurt. And with the increases in values so will the increases in severity & number of injuries, paralysis & death be.

With the demand to sell sell sell the promoters and builders are under pressure to produce a show that brings in the fans. So the tracks have now become obstacle courses and the racing has become a live version of the show "Wipe out".

Along with this they are trying to tame the bikes down by building tracks with one doable rhythm every where. Other wise these guys will jump entire straights in two leaps. Even though that might be doable the designers set it up so that if you miss you will die. Like jumps placed so tightly together that you have no room in between them to gain momentum, but instead everyone is scrubbing speed in order to "stay within the lines". And you now simply HAVE TO get down the back side of everything or you won't be able to control your speed. Yes, "Houston we have a problem".

Racers today are dropping like flys. Yes, there have always been injuries. Yes the news travels farther and faster, yes there are more people doing it now. But the facts remain. It is way more dangerous.

I have nothing but respect for these guys as they dedicate their lives to mastering the techniques it takes to race this stuff week in and week out, and working themselves into a level of conditioning that is at the highest level.

I just hope the right people wake up and get back to racing. Intead of just sell sell sell. It has started costing a lot more than we bargained for. Ok I gotta go burn the Arenacross to a DVD now.

boy there are some stupid posts on here. no crap mx is dangerous. but we are talking about the absolute best racers in the world and they cant race on these tracks without getting killed. dont you want to see some bar to bar racing? its not going to happen anymore because they have to concentrate too much on the track itself. racing is supose to be against another racer not against the track. it could be made safer and better to race on even with 450s , even though i think too the 450 should go away. two berms in every corner, inside and outside. triples that land at least 30 feet from a corner. wider tracks with less lanes. and mandate neck protection and air chest protection. they are safer, period i have ridden and crashed with and without and its clear it hurts less.
