Kdub is cool, he's like Dirty Harry on a dirt bike. I doubt he reads message boards for advice on how fast he should ride or how close to the edge he should get.

"You doubt that" which means my initial post was unnecessary because I where secretly (meaning not aware of) addressing him directly?

Whit that intention I would say: "Hey Windham etc"

Kevin is one of the most talented riders I have ever seen. I just think he doesnt have the confidence to be "the man" when push comes to shove. You can see how he rides when he is confident, and how he can also ride around in 10th looking bored. I think maybe since the ability came so easy to him, maybe he never developed that insane work ethic of a guy like RC. Plus he never really hangs it out. Bailey once said that if he had to compare himself to a current rider it would be Windham for that exact reason. He said that he was the same way and would always try to stick to smooth riding over hanging it out. But take away RC, MC, and Reed, and Windham would have a buttload of titles.

I dissagree. Wasn't it 08' when he got beat by Langston. Alessi and Ferry in the outdoors. Kevin is probably my favorite rider, but I think he has always been the most happy when he is just one of the top guys racing and winning random races.

There's something about being the top guy that changes everything. Even at the local level. Second place is just more comfortable than first.

That is true, but he was also able to step up his game and beat Reed those two seasons here and there to make the supercross season close (ish). Sure Reed's motivation was in question with RC out, but still, Kevin went for it.

Maybe he still remembers that broken femur. Doesn't he have a 20,000 sf house on 640 acres with a plane and a landing strip?

I think he does exactly what he wants. Makes crazy money for it. A true professional.

The 2003 outdoors was some awesome racing for sure.

I also think it is somewhat odd that we're asking what is wrong with a guy who is 33 years old and just podiumed in a SX. How many guys have ever done that? Windham, Larocco and Dowd? Anyone else?
