From what I heard the flagger stationed at this whoop section observed and reported it to ref. Nothing was said by any parents, it was discovered when they saw the results. Maybe Skylar's Dad could elaborate further. But I heard this was not a protest by any parents.

Point I was making SC, was you did it for family fun not a career move to get your kids into a career with less then a 1% chance of getting employed. The sharing of times is priceless, that alone should be the goal, not what Mr. Gerkey was talking about which I have seen and agree with him on that point. The whole thing has just gotten way too serious with false hopes for the majority.

I personally have seen more under age alcoholics, drop outs and has-beens then success story's from Amateur MX. The real loser of the story is the kids and that is the shame in it all. The parents that berate the kids for falling on a jump or not getting the holeshot. It used to be amusing to see the random mom or dad yelling at the kid because it was rare. Now it is becoming more prevalent and really sad. After all isn't this supposed to be something fun and enjoyable?

AMA Rule: 1.3 C 12

A rider leaving the course must re-enter at the same point

or at the first point where he can safely without interfering

with other riders and without gaining an advantage. A rider

who fails to do so may be docked at least one finishing

position for the moto at the discretion of the referee. In

stadium motocross and Arenacross, a rider leaving the

course must be allowed to re-enter the course without

riding backward and may not be penalized, at the

discretion of the referee.

It is supposed to be, but at the end of the day a sport is a sport.... competition... There are people who take everything to seriously in other peoples opinions. Some should take it seriously, because that is what they are good at, others take it too seriously and try to push and force into becoming an elite athlete in their sport.

I have been to many races with my son. I have been to Budds Creek many times. John Beasley is a very nice person and will help anyone in a jam. I was there when a gentleman asked me who the track owner was as he wanted to find out who a person was working on the track the prior nite (he was parked next to us). I pointed Beasley out. The guy was shocked as he drove all the way from Pa, when he arrived his altermator went bad in his motorhome. John came up to the man and told him to pull by the barn area and plug in his motorhome. He said later that John pulled up in a vehicle & told the guy to get in he was taking him to get his part. John runs a strict track. His main priority is that his riders are safe. I was at the NE reg. and at the riders meeting he stated" if you have made it to this level, you know the rules, there will be no warnings" and went over the flags & rules. Some people were disquailified, some were doc. positions. The track relies on the staff to inform them of any infractions that are made on the track as they cant be every where, and they go by them. Just my thoughts.

As for the rider, Skyler, I am sorry it happened, mostly if he didnt do any thing wrong. My son has had it happen to him before. But always rememer, There is always next year. Move on, train hard, and most of all have fun doing it.

If you jump on a red cross or yellow flag at budds creek you should just exit the track immediately and go home the Beas doesn't play around with that. He has his rules and they aren't meant to be broken.

you know he deserved his win
even if the took it away
even if they dont give him his position
you just gotta stay possitive and know he won no matter what anyone else says

I know the official you are bitching about, and he's a straight up guy. Your issue is with the AMA not Richard. Nut up.
