My wife wanted a garden so a few months ago I made the 3 raised planting beds.

She also wanted to collect rain water to water the garden with as our water bill here is ridiculously high.......$80-$120 every month!!! .....and we use under 3000 gal a month which is low average. They do add other taxes into our water bill.

I installed plastic gutter on my 8x10 shed and picked up the rain barrels at local car washes. Last night it rained a little and collected 5 gal of water.

If you lived here you'd need an Olympic swimming pool to collect the water coming off the shed this spring.

We have been watching storms pass just a few miles North and South of us for the last 3 days that had tornado's and funnel clouds.....and we only got a sprinkle.

My wife wants to put 8 more on the house too......I have been told you can get the 55 gal barrels from Coke & Pepsi for $5 but have not been able to track a plant down.

Is "Rain Water" the new term for moonshine in South Cackalacky? Looks like a distillery next to the shed Smile .
