It looks pretty sweet.
I am torn on the Video not sure how much I like it or not. Time will tell. I will see when I get mine. It may grow on me. Plus 1080P vid.. Nice.

Maybe its a good thing I held out on buying the Canon XL2 Vid cam huh?

I like live view though for sure. For $2600 its a deal..

1Ds MIII owners are already pissed just from seeing sample jpegs. Yeah the IQ is that good.
Focus speed is the only draw back I see but hey my 5D works pretty good for moto. So it should be fine.


FTE its ok to change your mind once in a while.

I have just shot it around the house and its crazy. the color difference, speed, and everything about the camera is better than my Rebel. Im gunna shoot the Dodge Amateur National here at Hangtown in a few weeks so ill make sure i post some pics on here for you guys!

That's the bargain of the year for sure.

I really liked the super tele shots in the final film, way cool.

Now what I want to know is can you grab frames from the video and use those as big jpegs?

No.
From what I read on it so far the video is only 1080P. So thats the max size of the captured images in vid mode.
So the images would be 1920 X 1080.. 6.4 X 3.6 inches at 300 dpi.

You could print small images from that or make some sweet wallpapers and web images..

Sorry but I could be wrong. From al I have read it looks like 1080P is the highest Vid capture on it.

does the new 5D autofocus when shooting vid? I just picked up a D90 for a vacation body, that also does hd video, but it takes quite some practice to learn to focus accurately using the LCD and focus ring without shaking the camera. It's not at all easy to use like a camcorder.
