The best thing about that video is the look on Joel's face when SE says what a shame it was RC couldn't be racing. The thing about James gettin' beat that day is the same as any other day he ever lost, no love for the winner. 'Racing for the team' , 'need a 450', WHATEVER. Seldom a word about how fast the other guy was. Now that he wins every race he seems a little more humble. Just an observation, flame away!!!!

How about a USA vs the world in MXdN. Lets keep tabs and points of the riders from the U.S. and tally all others outside of the U.S. togather ( best non-American ) .

My money is on RV , James and Ferry vs rest of the world .

The 'America #1' argument is a no brainer, I don't think anyone can seriously challenge the fact that the yanks have been the fastest team out there for the last 3 years running, and have straight up earned the trophy. Folk who argue this need a reality check, plain and simple.

The Everts/RC argument is pointless, they competed against each other a few times, with RC beating Everts twice from memory, and Everts beating RC the once (I could be wrong though). It's hardly enough evidence to base a foundation of any kind of argument on the subject, rendering any ''You're lucky Everts/RC wasn't racing'' comments ridiculous.

The way I see it - Before the event, the yanks are talked up to not only take the trophy, but to embarrass everyone they compete against, giving them some kind of riding lesson. This talk is, IMO, disrespectful and un-necessary, but that's bench racing. The problem with this is, the yanks have, and will more than likely go on and indeed win the Nations, but if they don't blow everyone into the weeds (ala Budds Creek) people are rightly going to come back and question why they didn't (ala Matterly). This is when the ''He was riding for the team'' type comments appear (ala FastEddy), which then causes a whole new argument.

There’s such a thing as being gracious in victory as there is in defeat, which is something a lot of people who follow and talk about the Nations need to learn.

remember 2006 at matterly yanks didn't win one race.

stewart got whooped by everts.

villo got whooped by cairoli

tedesco got whooped by half the field.

WHAT A DAY!

see you at donnington Wink
The US didn't need to win an individual race to win the team (what is on the line) race.

Not sure why evryone thinks it is about individual accomplishments and not the overall team placement that really counts???

Did I miss the announcement declairing the MXDN as an individual race?

Personally, I would take no individual wins and the overall every year!

Whats the problem...I thought you were joking? Funny how we don't tolerate this kind of intolerance on this board, or something like that.

Ha Ha. Bashing people based on post count. Very clever of you. You haven't been here half as long as me.

What is your number? I would love to enlighten you on how the world actually works.

I can only assume that there was some horribly misguided attempt at "humor" in Wood's post.

On the bright side, it did earn him a Vital MX Stupid-Dum of the Month Award, and the "prize" that goes with it, a month off from the board.

In case anyone wants to try and join him, there's no rule against multiple recipients in the same month...
