But do you know how many riders are paying for their rides now?
Some that you think "earned" a ride on Team X earned it by opening a checkbook
Happens more often than you'd think[/quote:2fedsx7e]
You are correct there, that is a very common thing today, even here in Europe.

Well...you know how California people are....
We heard a rumor a while back that Christian Craig is planning to bypass the A class altogether and jump right into the AMA Nationals at the conclusion of this amateur season. The best part of the rumor is that when he does it, it will be out of the Yamaha of Troy rig. I tracked down Mike Craig, Christian’s dad, at the Oak Hill GNC to see if it was true or not. Mike confirmed the rumor to be true! Christian, who is racing the B class this year, could very well start his Pro career, with the support of YOT, as early as the Millville National. Why make the move so early? Mike feels that Christian will learn more in the Pro ranks than he would by spending another season on the amateur tour. Will this be a case of “too much, too soon?” It worked out pretty well for Ryan Dungey, when he moved directly from the B class to the AMA Nationals. So it could very well work out for Christian too. Only time will tell.[/quote:22zv0f41]
So Your COMPLETEY full of shit ??? What would drive you to make up a lie like this ?

It's a cut and paste from Chris Hultner's iMpound column.......
Sounds like Chris talked to Mike Craig......
Ryan has the power to sign off on it and let the kid go pro. Problem with all this all the kids this rider is beating in B class are not getting a fair shake, in fact the majority are not being treated fairly.
I get my butt in trouble for speaking about this in here but damit we don't have the dam luxury of saying well not this year for advancement. He should not get the go straight to pro card deal, I don't care "WHO" it is.
a year or at least 6 months in A class will hopefully benefit a rider even a "great B " rider can use the exposure riding A class would provide.
guess that is why they don't call me for opinions on this LOL>...
Furthermore, Christian has never mentioned one time that was his intention, nor has Yamaha. This is all stemming from Mike, not Christian, Yamaha the AMA, ect....
He wants to ride A and he doesn't think he can go pro right away. Christian is a very smart and laid back kid. He is not full of himself and he is in no hurry to make the jump.
Something about that just sounds wrong....
Something about that just sounds wrong....[/quote:28i8ioka]Pro or shall I say "A". However you want to call it now days.
Factory backed kids will always get good stuff. It's always been that way and will never change so...

Well, pro and amateur are diametrically opposed........

Easy, there, turbo.
I didn't make anything up. Just relaying what I was told by Christian's dad, Mike. Could it be wrong? Sure it could. But I was just doing my job, the only way I could. I heard a rumor, so I went directly to the source and asked him point blank if Christian was going to jump right to the Pro class after this season—meaning AMA Nationals. Mike said, "yes!"
Should I have confirmed this with anyone else? Why? Who better to ask than a riders parent? If Mike lied to me, then that's for him to explain. But I can't see what the reason for him to lie would be.
Don't shoot the messenger, I was just doing my job.

A is pro in amateur. They get money for winning. That makes it pro.
