It's worth a check of the bearing grease. When I worked at a shop, I've seen brand new bikes with zero factory grease. It does happen.

Go drop it in the soft dirt, let it fall by itself, otherwise the first lay down will be with you on it.

ok...listen up dummys...this includes you hillbilly. the reason the steering head is lubed lightly is the fact that yer steering head moves no more than 35 degrees and very seldon does it move at any great speed or frequency. get off yer high fuggen horses, work on yer cornering and mentaltude and shut the fuck up...then ride that scooter and ride it for fun. you will be so much faster and happier yer wives and girlfriends will think they've died and gone to heaven.

but most of you stupid know it all young bucks won't listen to reason, brains or experience so carry on yer wayward sons.

wheels being perfect mean shit too....

If that is a new '06, which it looks like, you'll be really happy with it. Keep fresh oil in it, the filter clean and you will have a long happy life together.

it is a new 06...great deal at Bartlesville cycle shop.

FOR the 2 stroke lovers, they did have an '08 RM for 5399! I wanted to pick that up too, but can't be greedy.

The only issues I've seen w/ steering stem bearings is high pressure spraying...getting the bearing wet and blowing away grease, causing it to rust.

LOL bike washing is over rated. just do it once a month to remember what color the dam thing is! of course if you do wash it just don't wash that area. <img class= " title="Smile">

ps. I am a "2 stroke lover" but hey you chose a OPEN bike over a 250, very cool.

I also bought one of those left over 06's and love it in every way. Of course i am an old smoker as most of the vet guys are but i msut say i can not get enough of this thing and am riding more and happier than ever before. As far as making a person lazy, thats what the 2stk die hards say but in reality, no matter what bike you ride, if you ride it as hard and fast as you can you are working equally as hard and if you are enjoying your riding time you will also ride faster and win more races.

I am 185# and 6' 2" so i had ENZO revalve and respring it once i started to ride at my ability but for most normal size guys this will be perfect out of the box. I have about 15 races and practice 3 days a week with no problems at all plus the valves are still in spec. Have fun, its a great bike!
