Just FYI- There is an airline called allegiant airlines that flies from smaller cities in the US to Vegas and Orlando{Northeast Orlando airport}. The airport is 46 miles from Daytona and I just got a round trip ticket for $166.00 yesterday.
http://www.allegiantair.com There prices do change as the plane fills up, just like any other airline. I did buy a ticket a couple weeks ago, and actually paid more with them. Perhaps things are slow with flights going there right now. They only fly certain days of the week, but with the race Friday night, the Saturday flight home was perfect.

Fares are cheap, but if you do or want anything more than a seat, you'll pay

Plus, you get to fly in and out of Sanford instead of Orlando, which is like strolling through a garden compared to trying to get through a lockeddown prison facility.

I'll guess I'll leave that bagful of engine ice at home. Get real -non stop and at the little airport. I'll save at least $50 bucks at the layover at the "rest stop" in the next airport. Thanks for the warning on the $10 extra bag. I tried to cancel, but too late. There goes $10 bucks. I won't be able to afford my Motonews membership for the next three months.
I have never flown it.
I was only passing on what I thought was helpful information to keep you or anyone from being surprised when arriving at the airport.
I suck

As long as they get me from point A to point B safely then I can roll with that.
Have you flown them before? What was your experience like?

P[/quote:n4qgf390]no. you'll never catch me on a skybus flight, you'll never catch those pilots jump seating on my flight deck either...
You are pitched products from the moment you arrive, everything is extra. Pilots are told to pitch products (even cities) on the PA. Flight attendants work on commission. I don't know about you, but I don't purchase an airplane ticket to be pestered the entire flight. I love their route map, fly to a city 60 miles from the actual location you sell. It's a complete sham of an airline, even with paying the 'ranger rick' pilots sub 30k they still can't even turn a profit. For how concerned everyone is with safety, it amazes what passengers do to save a buck. A financially unstable carrier with airplanes being flown by low-time pilots, sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. It's ok, you saved 35 bucks on that ticket to Columbus.
I don't have a huge problem with allegiant except for the fact that they fly some of Alaska's ex-MD80's, if anyone needs to know about the little "mishap" (where mechanics were signing all kinds of work off that was never completed) take a look at that NTSB report. In my eyes, all their aircraft are tainted.

Thanks for the info.

I am pretty much a AA loyalist.
Hate Southwest or similar, like TED.
I don't need a meal, but don't nickel and dime me.
