No one's really talking about Windhams Win!
He designed the track yes.. Does that give him a advantage? NO.. Only if it is a replica of his practice track.. Reed was right behind KW as they came around the first turn.. Ramsey gooned out and screwed reed and others up.. But even so reed was what in 7th after the first lap and something like 6 sec behind.. No reason he couldn't move up quicker.. RC and James would have.. KW flat out handed him his ass.. Dude was on, and when he is on he is as fast as anyone of those guys..[/quote:26ryfh2n]

Handed him his ass? I don't think so. Couldn't move up quicker because of the easy 1 line track. Good for KDub but don't shit yourself about how he won. Reed busted out a 46 sec lap time when there wasn't any traffic. Nobody else came close. I want to see good racing & that is what we got but the only reason it had any drama at all was to see if Reed could come through the pack. When RC & James were in the game the only good racing you got was when they got bad starts & had to do the same.

Stop making excuses for reed.. He was 6 secs behind in the begining and was never any closer.. 1 or 2 fast laps dont make 20 consistant laps... KW flat out beat him, will he do it again, maybe , maybe not.. Everyone was riding the same track...
P, you are nuts if you think he had an advantage cuz he drew that track out on a paper towel. If you havent ridden it, you havent ridden it. Everyone had equal time on that track, and it was Reed who almost the only one who tripled thru that timing section along the outside.

Reed had a bad start, and Kdub was on his A-game and didnt fade. Thats just how it went down.[/quote:2twzcif6]

Calm down guy.

Now, like I said the advantage was that it was an easy track, by Pro standards, and that Kevin has been getting better starts than Chad this year. It wasn't a lock, but it did help I believe. Take a look at the best lap times for the two over the races up to this point. Chad has been much faster. This past week, Kevin was running pretty much the same times (from what I saw on another web site).

Also, normally, Chad would pass a guy like Short in quick order. It took him forever to get around him this week. Had the track been more technical I think that Chad would have won, but again that's just MHO.

In practice the top 5 all ran the same time, I think it was 49 seconds with only the milliseconds being different. If Reed got the holeshot, he would have won. Congrats to K-Dub he did what he needed to, to get the win.

Yeah, he probably would have, but considering the starts that he's gotten all year having a track where everyone has lap times that are pretty close evens out the odds of winning for the field. On a normal track Kevin is at least a half a second a lap slower than Chad. Check the times. Like I said before, it wasn't a lock for KW, but it helped him and for some reason I think he knew that. <img class= " title="Wink">

This year is going to be a very good example of why people have been saying Windham is just out there riding for a sizable paycheck. I think two things are contributing to Windhams sudden speed.
One, Reed is riding down to the comp a slight bit. I think that will be over starting this weekend, wake up call at Houston.
But most importantly Windham is giving 100% exactly like he was in 04. Will he step it up again when Reed bumps it up a notch? I Don't know, but I do think Windham has had the talent and speed to run with RC, Stewart, and Reed all along just not the whatever you want to call it(heart, desire, drive...........).

I agree with that. Reed already forgot how to run his newfound "Stewie pace", otherwise he would have caught KW. I think it would be in Reeds best interest to push his speed back up, so he is ready for Stewart when he comes back. He has to be used to running that pace and keep pushing if he's going to run with Stew.

BTW, congrats to KW on his win. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy, but... if this [i:1sw4vx3w]does[/i:1sw4vx3w] serve as a wakeup call for Reed, it wont happen again this season.

No excuses. The fact that there were lots of riders in practice with very similar times tells you what you need to know. Easy track + holeshot & Millasps going down without a fight = a win for Windham. Good job. Windham needs that every week to have a chance against Reed. By the time Reed got to second he was still .5 sec a lap faster than Windham but not enough time. 12 min mains suck.

Hey now we're getting some place! To add to that, could it me that the others in the top five are actually getting better and thats why the racing/lap times are a little closer... You're not really from joisy right? <img class= " title="Wink">

Didn't K-dub beat Reed the prior week in his heat race? I think the observations that either some guys are picking up their pace or maybe Reed is starting to struggle for some reason.
