Not only would i like to congratulate K-Dub on a great win saturday night...

But i would like to commend his track design skills.

Thanks for the greatest track this sport has seen since when they used to race up into the stands and back down..

K-dub used every inch of that stadium.. Great track.

Dave doesn't like newbies. He tries to run them off right away by being an ass. It usually works. It's just part of the hazing process he does for some reason. Just ignore him. There is a lot of nice guys on here.

You can not design a modern sx track with 90 degree corners all over the place and expect much passing

haha nice little tid-bit of information right there.. yeah i guess i dove in head first.. just some ideas that have been floating around.. I'm not actually a kevin windham fan. I'm a fan of anyone that can qualify for a supercross main actually. I was more of a pastrana fan back in the days when he was around. Now i am a fan of the sport in general. I suppose i should end the post with this (SP?) I guess that will make up for any misspellings i may have had before or after it..

Cheers!

Seems to me I heard some bitching about it being one lined and hard to pass, as well as a lot of the jumps were mistimed and improperly spaced.

So, STFU

(4) 180 degree bowl turns
(3) 90 degree turns
(1) 70 degree turn

Racing has alot to do with the riders too and not just the tracks <img class= " title="Smile">

This response does kind of remind me of one part of the track you could tell was interesting to watch. The section between the finish line and that triple.. Its rare to see riders slow down for a triple.. Maybe some sand would have been cool there in between those sections?

I just think the racing wasn't close enough for passing. Some had the track dialed in and some didn't.

At least a lot of riders stayed fairly safe at this one.

I actually liked the track myself. The timing section on outside kept things interesting, I only saw a few attempt to triple thru that thing. The whoops werent too big, and that big ass double over the start line was a change for sure.

Not taking sides but, I liked the track layout. It was different. The complaints about jump spacing should be thrown in the trash as far as I'm concerned. These guys race every week with 65 foot triples. Single to tables, tables to tables, whoops etc., and they're always the same spacing. That's not racing. That's memorization and practice. While watching the race it looked to me like KW did have an advantage because of actual abilities. Reed is fast on flat ground, entering and exiting corners and at getting back on the ground from a big jump. Change up the timing and all and KW gets a leg up.

Good for KW. I hear Bubba designed the Atlanta track this year. Think there'll be any 95 foot uphill triples? How about 6 foot tall whoops spaced 10 feet apart.

Actually his track looks pretty boring and tame. And all triples are 65' (except A2) I dont think the riders get to change that

[quote="Moto-Me":1v12xyis]So you don't think dowd, ryno, or larocco would beat travis preston? haha.. you seem to like that quote alot.. haha nice.[/quote:1v12xyis] It is stupid.

Dowd does not race supercross here anymore.
Let us pretend that you are talking about the nationals for a second. The last time Dowd and Preston both raced a national against each other was in 2006, Unadilla and Southwick.
At Southwick Dowd did beat Preston in both motos, Dowd went 6-7 while Preston went 7-10. Of course even "W" knows that Dowd is very fast at the 'wick.
At Unadilla Preston got the better of Dowd in both motos, Preston had a 8-8, and Dowd got 10-10.
So in 2006 Preston earned 51 points to Dowds 49 points in the two races they raced against each other.

Lets back up to 2005 shall we.
Preston got 5th (308) o/a in points while Dowd was 7th (273). Preston scored zero points in three motos and Dowd scored zero points in three motos. Dowd was not able to race Glen Helen due to a injury (i think) and Preston scored 29 points in that race. Take away those 29 pts and Preston still beat Dowd 279-273.
In the motos Dowd did start, Preston beat him in 13 of them (Dowd beat Preston 9 times). Preston also beat Dowd in o/a's, 7-4.
Dowd and Preston had the same amount of top fives (2) and top tens (10), but Dowd did get a top three (at the 'wick, of course).
Now Ryno maybe a better choice than Preston for a outdoor ride, he last raced the nationals in '05, but only the last three in the 250cc class (450cc class to the kids). Ryno scored more pts than Preston in those three rounds, 82-72 (Preston did get a 38th in one moto). Preston did better in o/a's (2-1), while Ryno beat Preston in four of the six motos. Ryno had 1 top five, but was in the top o/a all three times. Preston went 7th, 13th and 6th o/a in the same three rounds.

Of course Ryno stop racing stupidcross like Dowd did.

The Rock would race stupidcross untill he was done with racing in 2006 (a few races earlier than planed), and i believe that is what we are really talking about here anyways, stupidcross.
The Rock maybe a good choice, if he was healthy and wanted to race. I am not sure that he is either right now, and see nothing that proves LaRocco would be better at this point than Preston (although LaRocco scored more points than Preston in those eight rounds they raced together).

Did i miss anything?

WTF?

Reed and KW were doing 46 sec lap times. Hello!!

The track was OK ... but I've seen better designs, particularly at Houston in previous years.
