We have a great flat track here at my local track in texas.
We have even had a couple of ama sanctioned races there.

Flat track lost all its appeal when they started allowing brakes. Good grief, what do you need brakes for, you rarely go more than 100 at the end of the straights, just pitch that baby in there and ride 'er out.

Too bad DT's went down the tubes as bad as it has at least around here.
Around here it's Lodi that's all I know of. I know Stockton Fairgrounds runs Monday Supermoto practices.
Yeah, Mark Brelsford was a master at pitchin' it sideways; throttle to the stops.

Wasn't the 2 strokes responsible for that? They had what basically sounded like a jake-brake since they didn't have the compression to slow them down. I would love to try some short but after seeing my dad and a few of his buddies hit the dirt at 100+ I'd leave those 1/2 miles alone.

Saw the flattrack racing at Daytona moto week around 1979 or 80 on the crushed shells it was a short track, if you crashed you hit a wall. Good racing, fun to watch.

this was actually a few years ago.

she started back racing last year but recently lost her ride so she is out of it again.
