Anyone Know What Broke on Langston's YZ-450F's rear suspension? Was it the shock or spring? I am surprised how well he landed the triple as you can see the rear wheel was packed up against the fender at take off and stayed there in the air!

It looked like he bent the shock shaft. When he took off from the launch on the triple, did you notice the rear suspension didn't extend? If you break a shock spring, the suspension will still extend...it'll just collapse again when it has weight on it. If you bend a shock shaft, it the swingarm generally doesn't move afterwards.

(BTW...props to Langston for landing the triple w/no back suspension!)

Yeah, I thought about the shaft but with the size they use I would think it hard to bend it? I wondered if the spring broke and maybe the coils got locked up with each other holding it.

Either way I haven't seen anything like that in a long time...

Maybe its Yamaha seeing if there is a market for an MX "Cruiser" style bike

I agree; but then again by the time he likely felt something amiss he was comitted and had to try it.
