great pics, Steve. You have so much info on SoCal Mx from the 70's - It's almost like you have the secret archives.

Please share all the pictures, scans, and stories your free-time allows

[quote="clayman":c8f84]Anyone remember the Fountain Valley HS riders? I was there from 73-77... Jeff Mason, Jeff Manjarty (sp?) there were a few others I had classes with but can't remember there names right now.[/quote:c8f84]

Do not know the Manjarty guy, but Jeff Mason is a good friend of mine.

He was racing until a few years ago with the Over The Hill Gang MX Club. He won the number 1 plate in the OTHG in 2000.

He was OTHG President in 2001, Race Director in 1998 and 1999.

Jeff's a great guy and fun to hang out with. <img class= " title="Smile">

And THAT'S why I pay Rick Stout the big bucks! Just kidding!

Man, I loved those days at Corona...you don't know what you've got till it's gone...like being a kid. It's like that old George Bernard Shaw quote, "youth is wasted on the young"...

hey bauer are you there?i talk to stout last week and he said your doing alot of good stuff for the sport these days.he said your nickname in the days was maddogg.he said it was either the way you were on the track or what the girls called you in the bedroom. maybe it was what you and stout did after the races in your tricked out vans with all the corona raceway bitches and wild 70s girls.he said if you and him werent doing the girls your dads probaly were.you two were crazy in the day but still hauled ass at corona.he said staten was the uglyiest man ever to ride a bike so you beat his mugg in more ways than one.he lathed all the houses on the old corona raceway infield and said he told people it used to be a lake there and a race track there to.they said he was full of shit.cant get no respect being a well hung white boy these days he says.the great white dolemite.

Well hung white boy? Stout had to quit racing cuz his milker kept getting smashed between his thigh and his bars when he was dragging them! He was Mark Wahlberg's body double in that scene at the end of "Boogie Nights".

Seriously, Ricky and I go back a very long ways and it's always a battle of the bullshitters when we run into each other at the SoCal SX races. I wish old Ron Crandall was still around to join us...Ron Griewe too!
