Very nice...I raced the 465 and 490's for years. The dreaded YamaHop was always just a split second away if you chopped the throttle at the wrong time.

All the time a raced them I was a feather weightWoohoo talk about a wild rideSilly

Rory's bikes were my inspiration. Specially the WR500. I love those bikes too.

What a great story, it`s always nice to see a bike transformed from worn out back to show standard. The old YZ490 is getting more & more popular every year over here in England, there must be 100s of photos of them in action on the gallery page at www.classicdirtbikerider.com I even wrote quite a long & detailed article about the production history of the old air hammer, it`s still up on the features page if any one wants to read it. All the best, Mr J

Yeah the first year we went over (2012), there were us 3 and 2 others(a guy from Swedenand an English guy) now there is a bunch although we had 6 riders last year and this year it will be 7, so our team is a big chunck of them but there is still way more than there used to be. I read that piece that you did on the 490 and it was cool, I also saw the piece you did on Farleigh 2015, there were some photos of us in that and I was wondering how I could get some copies of them, I couldn't find an email address on the website at the time.
