Put my fmf slip-on from my 15 fe (15.5), onto my 16 fe, HUGE difference.
I thought my bike was blowing up with the Akra, it's that bad, imo

Bike will run a lot better without it. Throttle response will improve. If you get any decel pop adjust TPS to get rid of it. My TPS came at .54v, changed to .6v and runs good, no pop, and doesn't feel like it quits pulling before hitting the rev limiter anymore.
Will be KX loud tho.

We have a local station that sells both 101 and 93 no eth. I mix it half and half. Haven't tried plain 91, mainly because I'm already going there to get gas for my son's 2strokes, so I don't know if there is a noticeable difference

Are all of you talking about the end insert? Has anyone removed the middle screen? If so, how difficult and was it worth it. I didn't notice much removing the end insert. It's also still pretty quiet.

Yea talking about end insert. I took mine out after only an hour or so. It did seem a touch more responsive after but of course it could have been in my head.
I do have a touch decal pop. Just adjusted my TPS gonna ride tomorrow afternoon so we will see.

I'm thinking of pulling the can and removing the inner screen as there is little other reason why another brand slip on should have such a positive impact. I guess I better also buy one of those TPS tools so I can get the right TPS setting. My bike doesn't start as crisp as I would expect and think this may help.

Mine does not start right up or pop off as quick as I would like either. My TPS was set on.55 and I adjusted to .58. Starting does not seem to be any crisper for me.

How are you getting insert out?, remove the can?, or pull from the end after bolt removal? Whats required to adjust tps,? Tool wise? Thanks.

Insert comes out with a little tugging and pulling after bottom bolt is removed. I used a small pair of pliers and mine came out with some side to side pulling.
Your gonna have to search TPS adjustment. Several good vids on you tube about it. Its very simple. I did not have harness or TPS tool. Just used my multi meter and adjusted with bike running.

I completely agree on the Akro exhaust- It really sucks! The bike has no bottom end and just average mid. It does rev great but when you're riding moto and need a lot of snap off the bottom it just doesn't deliver. Anyone change gearing? The 48 rear seems tall- thinking about going to a 50. This plus an FMF full exhaust should make this bike golden.

I have heard very similar from other local FE guys as well. A full pipe or at least a slip on helps low end pop. I just can't see why the akro slip on would have such a negative other than the inner screen. Four strokes are not that pipe sensitive.
I have also been looking to re-gear. I will test the 49 and then try a 50 if necessary. I found that tight corners catch third a little too low in RPMs and I'm chopping early on triples. Just sucks that I need a new chain for one more tooth.

I only have about 3hrs on mine, I have the first screen out of the muffler, bike feels pretty dam fast to me. I"m coming off a 2013 Honda with all kinds of work done to it & this bike walks all over my Honda! I"m not so quick to start throwing parts at this bike, for me getting the forks dialed in is job #1. have you guys adjusted your map setting to the aggressive mode?

Are any of yall finding your bikes are hard starting? Its almost like it might turn over too slow? Just takes a while like sometimes I think its not going to. Only first start of day though. after that pops right off.

Hit the starter for a few seconds, wait 1 minute or so try again, should start if not wait another minute, will be all good.

the FMF Ty system woke the bike up. The Akro doesn't have the bottom. stock gear works great

I've had the same. The response from Tonynz is what always works. In talking to several others, I have also heard the WPS battery had better cranking amps than the stock battery. For $110, it may be worth a change. Installed my bike coming into a corner in slippery, wet conditions at a race last weekend and due to the slow start, four guys passed me before the bike fired. I'm not cool with that! Of course the Rekluse is in the garage and soon to be installed.

First real day of testing the KTM FE450

Very strong motor but still easy to use.

Chassi is very light and nimble. Almost feel like my previous yz250f. Brakes are unbelievably good compared to my previous stock Japanese bikes.

Suspension feels slightly stiff but need more brake in time before a real feel of it.

The riding position reminds a lot of Yamaha. Bar/fotpeg position feels almost the same.

The seat has awesome grip, something you need with all this power.

Very happy so far with this bike ! :-)
