Nico Izzi came out to Lake Sugar Tree Motocross park in Virginia and raced in the VXCS series. He placed 3rd in the AA/Pro class. Justin Cooper also came out and placed 21 seconds behind Izzi.

He was at Englishtown on Wednesday before the Loretta Lynn Qualifiers, they almost made him ride B class because he didnt have his pro/A card (they are sticklers about it).

It was pretty impressive! The trails were tight and him and coop were running moto suspension and no barkbusters! I ended up 7th overall. My hopes of besting Izzi didn't work out. Lol

Unfortunately it is, especially in Virginia! Kinda bummed on this race, lead vet a the whole damn race and threw it away on the last lap. And to think I was so pumped to move to vet class......sighhhhh

The MX came later. Trail riding turned into woods racing, then I realized I'd never go fast in the woods without practicing moto. Very very few fast woods guys actually practice in the woods, you will always find them burning laps at an MX track somewhere.

Nico has always been fast & very talented on a dirt bike...his problem seems to be keeping his nose clean. I hope for his sake and his family's that he has made the quality decision to do that, and has the support to see it through.

Glad Nico is racing and doing alright. I grew up not far from him. I knew his family well, as his father and my father were friends. I remember watching Nico from 50's on up. He used to ride at my home track and jump most of the jumps I was scared of with his KX60.

My dad used to do the Virginia harescrambles series back in the 80s when the national series was running out west.

I guess it morphed into vxcs. He ran senior then super senior ,had Jeff Smith in his class always. Jeff won BSAs last world mx championship i think in 65.

That series is still around as vchss.org. that's the larger of the two series in va .

That was an awesome race, the track layout was fun! I just saw Izzi has something going with Sick Recovery Racing which looks like an awesome idea!

No the hare scramble series you are talking about id the VCHSS - Virginia Championship Hare Scramble Series, est. 1984, average attendance is 450+...
