2014 Husqvarna FC 250 blowing smoke

Edited Date/Time 4/10/2016 1:47pm
I bought a 2014 Husqvarna FC 250 in January in brilliant condition. I rode it once in February it ran great, since then i have changed the oil and oil filter and not touched it since. Started it today and it was blowing smoke like a 2 stroke even once warm. Little bit worried and cofused to why last time i rode it it ran fine and didnt smoke. Does anyone think it just needs a good run out?

No i washed it in February and started it after and it was fine so i cant see how water has got into anything. Only thing i can think is with it standing in a cold shed for months without being started moisture has built up in the oil maybe?????

white is coolant it'll have a blue colour if its oil. is it a brand new bike or used? is your coolant low? does your engine oil change levels? usually if it smokes the whole time its head gasket or piston/rings

Thinking about it i did also change the coolant when i changed the oil and oil filter. i topped it right up when i changed it, ill check if the coolant is low but it is smoking while cold. It is a used bike but very low hours. no the engine oil hasn't changed levels that i can tell through the window

does it stop smoking when its warm? is it hard to start? keep an eye on the coolant level if its going down you have a blown head gasket,

is it a lot of smoke? should notice the coolant level drop pretty fast if its a blown head gasket, also look for oil in your coolant. no problem

the smoke looks blueish to me which would be oil which would be valve guides or piston rings starting to go, valve guides usually only smoke on start up and go away when warm. is the coolant where you filled it too? might have a small head gasket leak how many hrs are on the bike?

Yes the coolant is where i filled it to. 11 hours. Main thing is i dont think this issue is severe as i first thought, would you think it would be ok to ride and monior the issue?

so im gonna say its most likely piston rings and cylinder are getting wore, is that 11 hrs since you had it? yea id probably just ride it around a bit to find out what its burning might start smoking even worst

i've done 2 hours added on to the previous owners use of the bike, if it gets any worse i'll have the piston changed.

Valve seals. Note how the smoke increases after it is reved and the rpms are coming down. That indicates that the oil is getting past the valve seals.
