Hey Guys,

I'm currently building a website which will show live data from the AMA live timing page. Curious on what you guys would like to see from it.

Essentially i can pull all data live as it happens from the page and save it to a database to then do graphs and analysis of laptimes, segment comparisions, position etc. i could do it live but also after the fact seeing i will have the data saved.

Wondering if anyone has any unique idea on Graphs or live charts to show data on the page, regardless ill be pulling up my own ideas but would be cool to hear if anyone else has ideas.

Hoping i can make it work so people can go to the page instead of the live timing page just to get a better designed well thought out layout of what people want to see.

Cheers guys,

Send me a message I might have some good info for you. I have a couple guys racing on Saturdays and all I do is squeeze data. I can give you some good insight into what I look for and what's missing from the data that's being provided.

Looking great so far! What kind of development stack are you using? I've always thought about doing something similar to what you are doing (Ruby on Rails). I also suggest you take a look at http://www.basketball-reference.com/. The amount of data that they have about each basketball player is amazing.

Just take a quick look at the difference between these two and you can see how much more you can track and display:

Ryan Dungey

Patty Mills
http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/m/millspa02.html

Send me a PM. I have a few other suggestions that you might be interested in implementing.

Lap by lap gaps between riders. So you an go back and see the margin between 1st and 2nd as the Moto progressed.
